DIOCESE FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT |Our Senior Girls Football team had an exceptional performance at the Wollongong Diocese Round Robin Tournament on the 28th of April. In our first two games, the girls were dominant against opponents in St Joseph's (4-0) and John Therry (5-0) and came away with convincing wins. The game against St John's was challenging, and it ended in a nil-all draw. However, this did not stop the team's momentum as they constructed a complete performance against Mt Carmel (2-0) to progress into the finals, topping our pool. The semi-final match against Corpus Christi was another tough win for the team (2-1). The girls displayed incredible teamwork and counter-attacking Football, which led them to secure their spot in the final against Mt Carmel. The team had an amazing game in the final with great attack and solid defense. I was an extremely proud coach when, at the right time of the day, the St Mary’s girls clicked into gear across the park with a 3-0 win. The team's victory is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and passion for the sport. The girls showcased their exceptional skills and strong determination to achieve their goal after a long and hot day in the sun. A special mention to Holly Penning, Brielle Masters, Sofia Kent and Helena Halios-Lewis for being selected in the Wollongong Diocese Representative Team. Well done girls! Congratulations to all members of the Senior Girls Football Team for their incredible achievement! Coach Joshua Watson
