CONGRATULATIONS | To our talented public speakers who participated in the Rostrum Voice of Youth competition at Smith’s Hill High School. They delivered powerful speeches on various topics, competing against students from other schools like Edmund Rice, TIGS, Smith’s Hill, and St John Bosco, Engadine.
Our students did exceptionally well, with Madeleine Simpson (Year 12) securing the Runner-up position in the Senior section with her humorous yet powerful speech on societal beauty standards. Sophie O’Dwyer (Year 8) also impressed as the Runner-up in her Junior section heat, motivating her audience to create their own opportunities. Madeline Plunkett (Year 8) delivered an engaging speech on the negative impact of social media on young people, while Rosalie Van Stralendorff (Year 8) challenged her audience to consider the importance of early education on sexism and gender inequality.
It was a pleasure to listen to our insightful and articulate students share their thoughts on issues important to them and they are all to be commended for their passion and participation.
