HOSPITALITY | On Tuesday, St Mary’s hosted a Hospitality Industry Currency Day for Cookery trainers from across the Wollongong Catholic Diocese. The day provided an opportunity for trainers to refresh their skills in baking and sous vide methods of cookery. St Mary’s was delighted to showcase and share its state-of-the-art commercial kitchen facilities too!

ARTEXPRESS NOMINATION | Congratulations to Lily Callaughan (Year 12) whose HSC Visual Arts Body of Work "Time Capsule" has been nominated for consideration in ARTEXPRESS 2026! Being nominated for ARTEXPRESS is an incredible achievement. ARTEXPRESS showcases exemplary HSC artworks from across NSW, celebrating creativity, skill, and personal expression at the highest level. Lily's Major Project titled 'Time Capsule' explores the human impulse to archive fragments of life, and store them, creating a tangible connection to the past. She has explored this concept through a series of drawings including an incredible drawing of the humble shoebox itself, gathering dust at the bottom of a cupboard as a vessel storing away memories. Lily’s nomination recognises her exceptional talent, dedication, and the depth of thought behind her work — an incredible achievement and a moment of pride for our Visual Arts faculty and the entire SMC community. Well done Lily and her teachers Ms Rees and Mr Vucic for this wonderful recognition!
