A big thank you to all the staff at this hospital, especially the veterinarian Nancy, who took care of my dog when she had a dental procedure. Very happy with the kindness and compassion shown and my dogs teeth look good as new!

Incredibly expensive and without feelings for animals. They just want to rip you off as much as they can. Please avoid

Just the worst. I had a terrible experience with them. Their team doesn’t empathise and communicate with owners and countless reviews have stated this yet Goddards hasn’t addressed it because they don’t care. They are relying on the fact all vets in east London aren’t great so they are the best of a sour bunch. The institutions their vets are coming from must have zero teaching in this area of communication teamwork and most importantly empathy. Some local places spring to mind lol. The irony is - is that Goddards actually inspired me to become a veterinarian myself! This is because after my horrid experience I realised that the UK needs more empathetic vets!!!! .

I came to pick up my dead cat’s ashes in a Zipcar. Was completely baffled to see I was charged a £90 parking ticket (£60 charge £30 processing fee from Zipcar) for having parked in their car park. Apparently I had to notify them I would park there and this was advertised in the car park and the lobby. Absolute clowns. If this is the policy, NOTIFY CUSTOMERS IN DIRECT PERSONAL COMMUNICATION. They refunded the £60 parking charge to Zipcar saying it takes on average 40 days to process. And the £30 processing fee is probably lost. Absolute clowns, zero respect for people who treat customers this way.

I had a very disappointing experience at Goddards Wanstead when I took my dog to the out-of-hours emergency service. She had a lump that had remained the same size for years, but suddenly, within 24 hours, it grew significantly, and she was in pain. When we arrived, she seemed a bit more relaxed, but I still explained everything in detail, expecting them to perform proper tests, such as an ultrasound or further investigations, to assess the lump. However, after examining her, they simply told me not to worry, suggesting it was probably back pain. This didn’t make sense to me at all. They prescribed painkillers and offered a blood test, but not to investigate the lump—only because of the medication. I decided not to proceed with it at that moment, as I wanted to properly examine the lump first and then do any necessary tests. I left the consultation feeling unsure about their diagnosis, but I decided to follow their advice and wait 48 hours to see if the medication worked. The total cost? Nearly £400 for the consultation and medication. By Saturday morning, I noticed that the lump had grown even larger and turned red, so I called the hospital. The receptionist said someone would call me back and asked me to send photos by email, which I did immediately. Hours passed with no response. Finally, at 3:30 PM, a nurse emailed back, simply saying I should call again to arrange a recheck. I called and waited on hold for over 45 minutes before giving up. Later, I tried the emergency number, and they told me I could bring her in—but I would have to pay another £288 for a new out-of-hours consultation. I explained that I had already seen their emergency vet on Thursday night, but they said it didn’t matter—I would have to pay the full fee again. My only other option? Wait until Monday and pay £110. I feel completely let down and helpless. I trusted them to properly investigate my dog’s condition, but instead, they dismissed my concerns, gave an incorrect diagnosis, and only prescribed painkillers. Now that her condition is clearly worsening, instead of taking responsibility, they are charging me again to reassess their mistake. I would not recommend this vet hospital to anyone looking for thorough, responsible, and compassionate care for their pet.

I am very disappointed in the service provided with our family cat. ~£750 of blood tests to tell us our cat is unwell. Reception never phoned to inform us of the results as advised by the vet and being put on hold over 45 minutes. Would not recommend

Goddards Wanstead have been wonderful in caring for our epileptic dog, during both emergency and pre-booked appointments. Reception staff are always kind and welcoming, while the nurses and vets are always patient, sensitive, and clear in explaining treatment. Pets are in very safe hands!
