Please stay away from this veterinary hospital. I cannot believe what they did to me. My cat was constipated. I came to get some advice and they scared me that my cat can die if I don't leave him with them for some blood tests. They said that in the worst case scenario, if he is seriously ill, he would need to stay overnight in the hospital and this would cost me around £1000, but flagged that it is very unlikely. I got scared and agreed. I thought that if there is nothing serious, it would cost me under £300. Just to touch his belly they heavily sedated him. They made me pay £700 for a blood test and anaesthesia, just to confirm that he is a little constipated and dehydrated, which I told them myself when I brought him. The clinic manager who treated my cat was trying to convince me on the phone that I needed to leave him overnight on the drip, which would cost me £2000. I said that I will take him home and they said that they need at least one hour before they can give him back to me. I am in my early twenties and they forced me to pay half of my monthly wage for nothing. I was crying all evening because this is just inhumane. I had to ask my relative to lend me £200 to pay the remaining fee, as I need to pay my rent soon and I simply have no more money. One day later, my cat is totally fine. They could have told me to wait one day to see if he is still constipated and advise me to give him more liquid and less food. This is cruel, I cried my eyes out because I cannot afford to buy food until the end of the month. I hope there is some humanity in you and you can treat your future customers, who are just worried about their beloved pets, with dignity. A big lesson for me.

I cannot fault the team and facilities at Stone Lion. They have treated all three of my cats in emergency care and every single time (including where I sadly had to say goodbye to one) they have been wonderful. My most recent was an emergency full gastric surgery for stomach blockages on our beautiful tabby. They took her in and were ready to operate the minute we got there and saved her life. Her aftercare notes were clear and easily understood. The veterinary nurses and night staff have also been extremely patient and kind. All through the process I cannot fault them and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Stone Lion to a friend. With regard to the recent inappropriate fb post surrounding the run over cat and to all the ‘well meaning’ people who called and wrote to attack the staff for their animal care, you literally haven’t got a clue what you are talking about. Please remember the people you are speaking with have dedicated their lives and careers to the love and care of animals, and what you think you ‘know’ isn’t always the full picture. Grow up and get educated on what quality of life and duty of care really means. Thank you again Stone Lion. Carrie and Family of Tabitha, Disco and Alfie (RIP)

You r disgusting! Why you want to put to sleep a cat hit by the car, instead of doing the surgery ( you have been offered payments) and let somebody adopt it! You r not looking after animals only care about money. Heartless ppl! Shame on you!

Just saw the whole thread by my friends about multiple people trying to adopt an injured cat whom these vets kept. They were supposed to operate on the cat. They refused to provide any information to people interested in helping the animal, gave a quote of 10s of thousands (!!) for the required surgery - otherwise they'd kill the cat. Disgusting tactics. Be careful with these people.

Very kind and professional. Our beloved cat had an awful accident, we had to bring him in at 3am and he clearly needed an urgent surgery. The doctor and the nurse were so kind and calm. Our cat had tests and x-rays done straightaway and received really good care following the operation. We were kept updated about the progress with frequent phone calls which was so helpful. Thank you for saving Suspect the cat!
