I was faced with either an eviction or having to euthanize after a bite incident at our home. When I first adopted my dog, Blue, I knew I would chose her over everything morning forward after getting those five minutes in the meet and greet room at the shelter. I felt that I had failed her in certain instances and with holding structure that lead us to this point. She’s my first dog and I was in over my head the more I realized what dog mom life fully entails when you have a highly reactive dog. She was sweet as can be from the begging, but as time went on she became protective and unveiled a lot of anxiety and fear for the real world. It unfortunately took this bite to kick her training into gear and Sam Ivy was recommended to me amidst the panic of us be also trying to find a new home for our family. I was connected with Thuylinh and I can’t say enough how patient, understanding, knowledgeable, and dedicated she has been with our situation. Sam Ivy gave me hope that my dog would be okay after one of the most heartbreaking experience. That I would be able to gain the confidence moving forward to work with my dog on her fears and reactivity, and she has really made a turn around. We’ve been able to correct her lunging, aggression, obedience, confidence, and her view of the world. Now the work is not done and we have a doggy-lifetime of practice and opportunities ahead of us, but because of Sam Ivy and Thuylinh I feel that we have all the tools and knowledge to keep progressing and to keep succeeding in our journey together. I can not speak more highly of them and what they strive to do for their clients, both human and canine. Thank you Sam Ivy, and Thuylinh!

Our Dalmatian, Duncan, had grown fearful and reactive since an altercation with an off leash dog on one of our walks. We reached out to Sam Ivy to help as it had gotten to the point where we couldn't have people over, he was chaotic on walks and just couldn't relax... we even blocked our front windows to reduce outbursts. Our trainer, Maribel, was attentive, patient and truly invested in Duncan's (and our) transformation. He is 1000 times more relaxed, confident and listens. I am happy for the experience, the tools we learned and most of all, happy for Duncan! Thank you Maribel!

When I first contacted Sam Ivy, I was at my wits end with my beloved pup, LG. He was barking, pulling on leash, going after other dogs, and eating everything on the street. This was especially scary since he has a sensitive stomach and kidney disease. When I attempted to take a chicken bone out of his mouth one evening while we were on our walk, he bit me - hard; and his eyes looked angry. I was scared of my own dog, and hurting. Emily to the rescue!!! She talked me off the "I can't control my dog" cliff, and taught me how to speak "dog." My LG is 13; he's been doing naughty for a long time. Now, not only is he way more obedient to me, he's no longer barking in the house, going after other dogs and pulling on the leash, and most of all, he's not biting me. Emily is very knowledgeable, patient, and kind. Most of all, she taught me how to teach my dog how to trust me so he doesn't have to be the leader - the alpha - in our pack. I am the alpha. She also taught me how to let him know what I says goes, period (without either of us having a meltdown). We took small steps, and soon LG was a changed dog and I am a different owner. I can't thank Emily enough! LG is a different dog, I feel even closer to my Little Guy.
