What is there not to like about Sam Ivy K9 Consultants! I have known Sam for close to 10 years, his character, passion, reliability and professionalism are second to none. When it was time to start training my new European German Shepard puppy I couldn't wait to turn to the team at Sam Ivy K9 Consulting. The initial consultation was thorough, professional and on point. Once enrolled, the care and detail I have received (and continue to receive) from Miguel (my trainer) is OUTSTANDING! Miguel goes above and beyond in every session with detailed course layout, explanations of technique, what to expect and what's next. He truly has our best interests at heart. Sasha and I are learning so much through our detail-orientated virtual leaning classes. Owning a high-end working dog is extremely demanding and Sam Ivy is helping us drive results. Our ultimate goal will be the completion of service dog training. I highly recommend Sam Ivy K9 Consulting for all of your training needs, you will not be disappointed!!

We had tried other trainings, but were looking for someone that could really help us on-point with our beautiful, loving and playful Boston Terrier boy. Jackie is great, professional and truly has a magical touch. She’d meet us twice a week in the mornings. We’d look forward to our classes. First, we did the “On-Leash” and were so happy with how things were going that we continued with the “Off-Leash”. It included everything from reinforcement to correction. The results have been notably drastic! One of the most impressive things was seeing our Boston improve on the “greetings” with other family members as well as new people. As much as we love our “ball of energy”, it was important to us that he learned how to harness this, especially around other people. Now we’re able to go out to parks and public places, have guests over with him so well-behaved. He’s another family member. We’re so proud of our beautiful boy and are so grateful to Jackie and the team at Sam Ivy. Would recommend to anyone who’s looking to go with the best!

TLDR: I highly recommend Sam Ivy and if you're considering making the investment you should. I got my dog, Bailor, from a Humane Society where I thought I was getting a chill dog. Little did I know, that was just the pain meds from being spayed talking and she would become a very different dog in the coming months. She would lunge and bark at any dog that passed, lunged/barked at my roommate when she tried to leave the house, showed her teeth at any stranger that came inside-especially males. She was resource aggressive and territorial; she ruled the house within 2 months. I was also told she was 2 years old and came to find out she is closer to 6 years old, meaning she is an old (and so. freaking. stubborn) dog, set in her ways. I am 9 sessions into my 12 session training with my trainer Emily and I can definitely say I have a brand new dog. She listens so much better, ignores other dogs on walks (or is easy to correct if she doesn't), and most importantly: respects me as her owner. I also learned how to be a better dog owner myself. I could not be more grateful; three weeks ago I was at a point of being concerned that I might not be able to keep her. The virtual aspect proved to be very helpful when I had to move to a different city on short notice. We were able to continue training like usual and it made the transition for Bailor much easier, in my opinion. Emily is very flexible with moving around sessions and is always there to answer my questions via text message even on non-training days, all for which I am so thankful. If you have an unruly, alpha dog that does not like to listen, I highly recommend Sam Ivy. You will have a new, happier dog in no time.

My daughter and I have been amazed at the results we've gotten from our 8 mo. old puppy after even just the first one or two sessions with our amazing Sam Ivy trainer. From the first two-hour assessment conversation we had with Enzo, through all of our sessions so far with our incredible trainer Thuylinh, we have felt like we are in the hands of true professionals who understand our puppy as well as our needs and have the compassion and patience to help us achieve our goals of a happy, harmonious home with her. I was skeptical initially about remote training session, but the whole experience has been a game-changer for us. I talk about Sam Ivy to anyone who happens to comment on Grace or her behavior or who seems to be struggling with their own dog and wondering how my dog is so well behaved. (If they had seen her eight weeks ago, they would have felt pity for us, not admiration!) I highly recommend Sam Ivy to anyone with any dog issues!
