TLDR: I highly recommend Sam Ivy and if you're considering making the investment you should.
I got my dog, Bailor, from a Humane Society where I thought I was getting a chill dog. Little did I know, that was just the pain meds from being spayed talking and she would become a very different dog in the coming months. She would lunge and bark at any dog that passed, lunged/barked at my roommate when she tried to leave the house, showed her teeth at any stranger that came inside-especially males. She was resource aggressive and territorial; she ruled the house within 2 months. I was also told she was 2 years old and came to find out she is closer to 6 years old, meaning she is an old (and so. freaking. stubborn) dog, set in her ways.
I am 9 sessions into my 12 session training with my trainer Emily and I can definitely say I have a brand new dog. She listens so much better, ignores other dogs on walks (or is easy to correct if she doesn't), and most importantly: respects me as her owner. I also learned how to be a better dog owner myself. I could not be more grateful; three weeks ago I was at a point of being concerned that I might not be able to keep her.
The virtual aspect proved to be very helpful when I had to move to a different city on short notice. We were able to continue training like usual and it made the transition for Bailor much easier, in my opinion. Emily is very flexible with moving around sessions and is always there to answer my questions via text message even on non-training days, all for which I am so thankful.
If you have an unruly, alpha dog that does not like to listen, I highly recommend Sam Ivy. You will have a new, happier dog in no time.
