Working with Sam Ivy and specifically are instructor Miss Gina was amazing for our dogs. One of our dogs struggles bad with anxiety and through our training sessions we found several ways to help reduce his anxiety and build his confidence. With both of our pups Miss Gina was able to help make them more calm, more confident, and significantly better listeners. We were able to do all of this online through Zoom classes as well which made training during a pandemic seamless.

We have 3 dogs and felt like we didn't have control of our household. There were some behavioral issues surrounding food/space aggression, and our youngest dog very energetic and experiencing separation anxiety. Usually, by the time you finally ask for help you feel like you're at the end of your rope and that's the point we were getting to. We didn't think it would be possible to turn around bad behaviors that have been heavily engrained into our dogs. Sam Ivy and our trainer, Gina, changed that all for us. We took control of our pack, and once the tools started working it was like magic. We don't run into issues now, because we have the tools to be proactive. We put a lot of work into training, but looked forward to meeting with Gina each week. She tailored the training to the individual needs of our dogs - we really got so much out of it and wished we'd done this training sooner! Every dog owner should do training with Sam Ivy. It gives your dog structure and a support system, and also is a great bonding tool for the owners/dogs. We are sad that our training has ended, but excited that we now have lifelong tools for our dogs!

Dog training is a way of life and Sam Ivy does a great job of teaching dog owners how to enter that lifelong approach. We loved our trainer and would definitely do this again with another dog!! Thanks so much for helping us become a better dog family!!

I cannot stress how amazing this program is, and how great my trainer (Thuylinh Nguyen) was. I had just adopted my dog Franki (4 year old Great Pyrenees mix), and she was not adjusting well to being left at home alone when I was going to work. She has separation anxiety, as is common with most shelter dogs. She would bark and whine the entire time I was gone. It was so bad, my apartment complex was ready to kick me out if I couldn’t find a way to make her stop. Thuylinh was able to help me successfully crate train Franki, and now I can confidently leave her at home to go to work, knowing she will not bark or disturb the neighbors. Also, walks with Franki were a nightmare. She would pull, lunge at other dogs, and even just stop and lay down in the middle of the walk. Being a Pyrenees, she is incredibly stubborn and would not listen to me. One time on a walk, I was left stranded for 45 minutes because Franki refused to get up (and since she’s 85 lbs, I couldn’t carry her.) Since completing the Advanced On Leash program with Thuylinh, Franki is a model dog. She does not pull, lunge at other dogs, or lay down. Most importantly, she listens to me. Franki is no longer incredibly reactive when encountering new situations because she has learned to trust me through this training. The best part about all of this is that every single session was done virtually and in the comfort of my home. If you want high quality dog training and knowledgeable trainers, this is the program for you. You will be given the tools to be the alpha, and your dog will learn to respect you. Everyone will be happier for it!
