I normally don't give a lot of details on my reviews but I think it is important for other dog owners know how great Erica (dog trainer) at Sam Ivy K9 is. I have a Great Dane/ Bull Mastiff mix giant puppy. His name is Petey and he is 16 months old. To say the least Petey is big and became a problem for me to handle. I have 4 other dogs and 9 cats. I am experienced at handling animals but Petey was too strong for me. I started looking for a trainer after Petey tried to kill one of my other dogs three times. I knew I had to get this giant under control or i would have a diaster on my hands. I look at sending Petey off for a month for training. Then I had a friend at work who recommended Sam Ivy training. He told me they train his puppy Bull Mastiff to become a service dog. I had a consult and was sold. Erica showed up for our first session (who is a small framed young lady). I thought if I can't handle Petey how in the world is she going to handle him. Erica showed me how to become the Alfa dog and that Petey had to respect me. After 2 weeks of training Petey was a completely different dog. He has been in training now for about a month 1/2 (3 times a week, at my home).in He is now in advance training. Petey and my other dog can now coexist in the same house without fighting. He is very well behaved. People can't believe Petey is the same dog. To say the least I would highly recommend Sam Ivy K9 training. It is money well spent.

Sam Ivy K-9 Consultants was just what we needed!! Miguel was awesome, he was patient, friendly, professional and very detailed.
We saw immediate changes in Abby (our dog) after day one and we are so happy that we did the Intermediate on-leash program!

HIGHLY recommend Sam Ivy! Out trainer Alexis was amazing. She gave us the tools to train our dog Rowan, so that we can continue to do so even after finishing the program. She was knowledgeable, flexible, and so fun to work with. We completed the off-leash program. Not only is it incredibly cool to be able to take your dog off leash, but it is a whole different lifestyle we have now that we are able to communicate effectively with our dog. She has made herself available for any questions we might have, even after we have finished the program. So grateful to her for helping us train our pup in a way we never thought was possible!

I have to admit that at first I was skeptical. We had just adopted a new dog that had severe fear aggression towards people. At the beginning she was all growls, barks and snaps with anyone besides me, and even I handled her with care. Even myhusband, who is loved by all animals and children, could get near her for a few days after we got her. That’s no life for a dog so I was referred to Sam Ivy. When I met with them I was told that the training would build Lizzie’s confidence and help her overcome her fears. Our Trainer Deanna Green has worked wonders and it is amazing how much this training has helped. Just last weekend we took her to a nail trimming event at a local pet store. Not only did she not growl at anyone, she was calm and relaxed while we waited in line and actually let a boy scratch her chin when I had turned my back for a moment. Our other dog is an uncontrollable overly excited knucklehead. He underwent training at the same time with my husband. Deanna gave us the tools that we needed and we’re now able to walk him with no problems. I’m so impressed and I can’t thank Deanna and Sam Ivy enough.
