We couldn't be more thrilled with the results we got with the training of our 9-week old pup, who was more than a little rambunctious and defiant. Jackie was great--she provided exceptionally personalized attention to not only our dog's particular training needs but also to us in terms of being the best parents we could be. We saw tangible results after only 4 sessions. Highly recommended!!! Eric and Jeremie - Ft. Lauderdale, FL

Would definitely recommend. We came to Sam Ivy as a last ditch effort to correct aggressive behavior between my two pit bulls. Before beginning training, we were isolating both dogs in seperate parts of the house and living in a switch-and-pray-for-peace type of method. Now we have three little angels, who get along and have better behavioral habits than ever. No more leash pulling, running out of the door or digging holes in the back yard and best of all, no more aggression. Miguel was awesome, and was great at answering any questions we had about anything. Super professional and always on time.

In September I adopted a 6 year old mix from the shelter to give my 11 year old some companionship He was pretty aloof when I met him but he was beautiful and calmer and the right age. The shelter seemed a little nervous adopting him out. But I took a chance. I got him home and he was very nervous and completely attached to me. To the point he wouldn’t let Sky get any attention from me. They were growling and snappy. At one point he “took her down” although she didn’t seem phased by it. At different points they each seemed scared of the other. I started looking into training because Max was now family so we were all going to get along! Max was also a puller and despite their not getting along in the house, Sky had suddenly decided her big brother would be back up for her to growl at all the neighborhood dogs. Not awesome! Alexis to the rescue. Sky the 11 took a little more time but she caught on quicker than I would have thought considering she’s been the little princess her whole life and now she actually had to have rules. As of today they are best friends, walk nicely without a pinch collar and mostly don’t bark at other dogs :-). The biggest thing I got though was training for myself. I am much more confident that I can handle them in any situation! Thanks Alexis!

We can't say enough good things about our experience with Sam Ivy, and our trainer Gina Coughlin. We started the intermediate on-leash program when our Golden Retriever puppy was just over four months old. Before training, our 9-year old daughter couldn't play with the puppy without being jumped on, or nipped at. I couldn't wear sweaters, or dresses, as the pup would jump all over me and nip. Wiping up a mess on the floor with a towel would create complete chaos. We tried a variety of training techniques (positive reinforcements, ignoring, timeout, etc.) - nothing was working. After a single training session, we had a brand new puppy. Over the course of the next several weeks, we learned how to communicate with our dog, and get her to listen to us. Our cats have come out of hiding, and our daughter loves to lay on the floor and sleep on her calm, well-trained puppy. We get a ton of compliments about how well behaved she is, and most people can't believe she's only 7 months old. Gina was awesome. She genuinely cares about your relationship with your dog. Gina's method of training not only improved our daughter's comand of our puppy, but gave her much more confidence around all dogs, in general. We truly appreciate Gina, and everything she taught us! (So much so, we just completed the intermediate off-leash program too).
