Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks!? I’ve gained much more than tricks from Sam Ivy’s lifesaving trainer, Alexis! Dante, a 10 year old Yorkie had been through several moves, including internationally, and finally decided he had enough - and so did his momma! The anxiety was showing up largely through aggression to both people and dogs during walks. Flash forward to present day, not only do I no longer dread taking him outside, we are able to enjoy socializing at markets and Little D can even successfully walk off-leash!! It’s hard to believe that this little fur ball was at one time bringing me to tears in fear of walking him and the poor passersby could barely hear my attempted apologies over his outbursts. I can’t thank enough, Tampa Bay’s Dog Whisperer, Alexis, for helping my furry friend and I to both experience more peace and less fear. In addition to her ability to communicate clearly with the pack-leader-in-training, she also has a true gift of understanding dog-alities. Just like people, dogs have different temperaments and preferences. Alexis is able to swiftly pick up on said dog language, whether it is the dog-in-training or another encountered in public, leading one to avoid unfavorable experiences and have a better understanding of dogs. An additional thanks to furry friend, Marley, for his depth of patience and great assistance in socialization. This most certainly was an investment worth making. THANK YOU!

Sam's technique solved issues of prey behavior by our dog towards the new cat. There were also uncontrolled problems with the dog that were quickly brought in line. The level we finally settled on was fairly priced and the trainer assigned, Joel, was dedicated and professional. And, as to methods involving the prong collar and e-collar, they are effective and not the least bit abusive of the dog despite the bad press they receive. Proper and educated use of these tools turned our dog around in the first two days. Sam Ivy is one of the best in the business. Now, the new cat owns the dog.

Best decision I could have made. I have a Catahoula Leopard dog, Rango, with fear based aggression and was desperate when I called as giving my dog up was not an option. Alexis was the trainer assigned to me and was the perfect fit. She has a great calm personality that helps you relax in what at the beginning is not relaxing at all an aggressive dog. She quickly became a member of the pack and was loved by all my dogs. Most importantly she taught me how to better understand my dogs issues and how to manage them. I followed her instructions and Rango became a calmer happier dog. I can take him out without fear of not knowing what might happen. He is still frightened of things he is not sure of but instead of lashing out he takes a step back which allows me the time to adjust. Alexis was great with scheduling as well, during days I could not meet early she would accommodate to my schedule. I'm very grateful to have gone through the training with Alexis she's the best. Major props to Sam Ivy for having qualified trainer it truly makes all the difference.

Our puppy "Sam" was added to our family for the sole intent on becoming a Service Dog/Companion for our 12 yr. old ASD daughter. As soon as we could we started taking him everywhere and exposing him to everything. To "polish" him off and make things official as we are not dog trainers and really didn't know the do's and don'ts we hired Sam Ivy K9 Consultants and they sent us Gina. Gina is kind, caring, understanding and was not only fabulous with Sam and his training but became a good friend to our family. The teaching techniques and lessons were so useful and all my concerns and questions were always addressed. If you are looking for a Service Dog trainer or help with obedience do not hesitate to call. Gina is the best by far so be sure to ask for her, you won't be disappointed. ~ The Petosa Family
