Ha a great month in Big Bear at Gold Rush. House was fine, spacious . Only complaint I would voice was that the windows, both inside and outside were very dirty, obviously not cleaned in a long time. I had to clean windows on outside to see clearly. I know this is homeowner's responsibility, but obviously it is not enforced. Also,outside decks need to be redone. Cannot be out there in bare feet, for fear of splinters. Also, woodpeckers are eating the side of the house. Every morning at 6am they are out there tapping away.

The cottage was nice and well equipped with everything you'd need. It was in a quiet neighborhood and close to town. Our focus was the outdoors so if I could have changed anything it would be the front porch furniture. Nice porch with plastic chairs.

The cabin was well decorated but was minimally stocked. There was no coffee, or bare cooking essentials such as oil, salt or pepper. There was mold in the shower curtain and the beds were terribly uncomfortable. After being an Airbnb host for about a year now, I learned to expect more from a vacation rental. However, we decided to go with Big Bear Vacations since we have been doing business with them for the last 5 years for our summer vacation. it may be time to reconsider since you get more with Airbnb for a more affordable rate. Also the check-in process was such an ordeal and cumbersome.

My boyfriend and I stayed in Moosehause this past weekend and we had a wonderful time. The house is exactly as it looks in the photos. The neighborhood is lovely and quiet and close to a trail where we took our dog. The kitchen is big and had everything we needed to cook all of our meals for the entire weekend. We spent most of our time just relaxing on the deck with books and drinks, or listening to music inside (the house does have cable and Netflix but we opted to leave the TV off for the weekend). The hot tub was ready for us and was quite nice except that the cover was extremely heavy! My boyfriend and I really struggled to get it back on the spa each time we were done. We're pretty fit people so I imagine it could be impossible for some people. Also, one side of the grill didn't work but we were still able to cook our burgers and steaks so it wasn't a big deal for us but we were only two people. The spa cover and the grill are the only things that weren't perfect. We would definitely rent this house again!

Location is excellent: right on Big Bear Blvd, just blocks from the Village. This was very important, due to high car traffic volumes on Big Bear Blvd, if one wants to easily and quickly go the Village.
Accommodations: 2 queen beds, 1 bath, full kitchen, high ceiling in living room and kitchen, TV with cable, and ceiling fans in every room. Very comfortable. Car space right next to the cabin. One shortcoming was that none of the fans had remote speed control, so it was necessary to climb on the coffee table to change speeds in the living room fan, or climb on the beds for the bedroom fans. One of the window screens was missing from one of the bedrooms. Overall, I really liked the cabin.

Working with Big Bear Vacations was easy and quick. Our cabin was exactly as represented. The web site provided so many photos and information that it was almost like we had been there before.

Beautiful views! Nice to have BBQ and amenities in house to make your own food and stuff. Great getaway! A little pricey but you're paying for location, keep that in mind.

Cabin was huge, lots of space, Wifi and flatscreen were a plus when connecting my chromecast to play my son his movies. It was very close to the mountain resorts and stores, the beds were comfy and the stay overall was good, we enjoyed it a lot. One downfall was the last renters did not wash the dishes and silverware properly which left us with dirty plates, black pots and sticky spoons we had to thoroughly wash before using, I guess you should anyways when using random dishes but these even had some grape leaves on one plate, to make up for it Big Bear Vacation did let us do a late check out at no extra charge so that was cool. It would also be nice if they left you more than 1 extra trash bag.
I would definitely recommend, just wash the dishes before using them.

Clean, you have all the essentials, great location for what I was looking for, and loved the open floor plan.
Could be improved: better window coverings in bedroom windows (rooms too cold compared to the rest of the house & had to crank up the heater higher than deaired), better parking or some sort of covered patio, and dinning lamp moved a little up (the light bulbs get super hot and unconfortable since it is right in your face).
Over all loved and enjoyed my experience .
