My husband and I stayed in the cabin "Lake View 104" in the shore acres property. It is a dog friendly cabin. We stayed for two nights. The staff at Big Bear Vacations were very friendly and welcoming. We took advantage of the late check in hours provided. At check in they gave us a cute little jar that had individual spices (Salt, Pepper, Garlic Salt, Curry, Paprika) We finally arrive to our cabin after our long drive.
The cabin was not inviting at all. There were stains in the carpet, a rip in the large rocking chair, my husband had to re wash most of the pots/pans out of the cabinets. The "master" bedroom's floor is much lower than the rest of the house, it felt as if it was sinking into the ground. The biggest issue we had was the queen sized bed in the master. It was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on. You can feel the springs while you lay on it and every move you make it squeaks. After hiking all day we just wanted a good nights rest and unfortunately we did not get it.
Although we had issues with the furniture we were presently surprised the kitchen was stocked with a coffee pot as we were expecting the 'bare necessities'.The cabin is in a good area, close drive to most things. Our dog requires a lot of walks, she is a super active pup, and one thing we noticed is there wasn't any good walking paths. If you wanted to walk, you would have to walk on the road and pray you don't get hit as some cars speed down the back roads. The check out process was easy, just leave the key in the lock box and you're done.
