Nice Property and Location. Bathrooms were horrible and severely out of date. All else was good.

Great location, but not a great cabin. Need to update kitchen furniture or at least the cabinets.

This cabin had some nice aspects to it, but also some negatives. The inside could have been cleaner, the living room rug specifically, as well as the closets. Extra linens were thrown on the floor in the closets and didn't appear to be washed. There was some dirt/ residue in the master bathroom upon arrival and the hot tub did not seem clean either. We had a nice time overall, especially with the fireplace, but we spent Thanksgiving there and it seemed like we had to do more cleaning than we planned for the holiday.

The house that was rented to us was infested with pests, specifically ants and spiders. Ants were crawling all over the kitchen, they got into any food that was left on the counter. They completely ruined our next day's breakfast. Upon going to bed we found spiders in our bed. We immediately reported this issue to management and they did nothing the first day. Again the very next morning we reported this and they finally sent Tim to lay ant traps. Even Tim agreed the problem is BAD and putting ant traps is like putting a band-aid on a broken leg. This house needs to be properly treated for pests but BBV is more interested in renting it to the next victim. Management never once apologized for the inconvenience or offered any sort of accommodation. Upon checkout "how was your stay" I explained the situation and asked for a partial refund since we would have been better off camping. They told me the decision is with Julie. I have been calling the office everyday since returning home and Julie has ignored my requests. ***Update*** Julie did reach out to me today and was very apologetic. We were able to work out the issue and come to a reasonable resolution. I am changing from 1 star to 3. We look forward to a much better experience next time.

Big Bear Vacations has lots of properties. The particular house we stayed in was just mediocre. It had no window coverings so we felt uncomfortable especially at night where it was like living in a fish bowl (feeling like everyone could see in). If you aren’t one to pay attention to small details then this house works fine. For me - I didn’t like finding hair in the drain when drawing my son’s bath OR other people’s lint in the dryer. The sliding door screen didn’t work and there was no AC, so with all the bugs it was not possible to get good air circulation. The only portable fan provided did not work. At night when the windows were open, the neighbors light would light up the master bedroom. Overall, things were adequate (minimal and old) **one thing that annoyed me was hearing a desk employee brag about getting an extra $25 for an Early check in from a family that just left** she was telling the story to the manager right in front of me about plotting the husband and wife against each other. **we were told our place was ready but waiting approval and they’d call my cell when it was approved. After 1 1/2 hour in the parking lot, I walked In to inquire and a different lady said it was ready (nobody had called and kids completed a full movie waiting in the parking lot) ** **the swimming pool was a few miles away located at a different property** **overall, the place is adequate and no major issues. Just remember you get what you pay for - if you save money, chances are you’ll be disappointed**

We loved the area for sure. the cabin itself is in need of repair/remodel to justify spending $1200 a night. microwave did not work. old coffee pot did not work. front door handle constantly jammed which made the door open by itself unless locked. master bath door lock broken. T.V'S from the nineties. holes in walls and doors throughout like someone punched them. Etc...Etc...

Our family enjoyed our stay. The home is slightly dated and the provided linens could be updated. This is not ski-in/ski-out so be prepared to walk around via the road if you are going to Bear Mountain. The ski school is outside the back lot currently as of Feb 2018.

we rented a cabin for New Years 2018, all in all it was an enjoyable experiance with the exception of waking up to find ourselves having to take showers with freezing water 2 of the 4 days because the water heater was not working properly.

The place was ok. Was not real clean when we came in. For a no pet place there was animal poop all over the front yard. The kids could not play out front. We had to sweep and clean the back yard up so they could play. Oven didn't work well took us over 7 hours to cook a turkey.

Working with Big Bear Vacations was the easy part! The home was clean but the heater took forever to heat up (about three hours for a tiny place in 37 degree weather). We would be interested in staying at a Big Bear rental again but not this one!

Most everything was great! The house was very nice a cozy with a hot tub out back. The kitchen was full of cooking utensils so we were able to cook on our own, the heater for the house worked great so we were never cold. The only thing I can really complain about is the cleanliness of the blankets and sheets. My girlfriend went to pull down a "clean" blanket from the closet and when she did an old used condom fell from being wrapped inside the blanket and landed on her arm. This is very disgusting and unacceptable especially when we paid close to $200 in cleaning fees. After this we were very uncomfortable using any of their blankets or sheets. Luckily we brought out own! Other than that it was very nice.

The outdoor front view n the patio with the grill n barbequing was fabulous. The cabin was very well equipped with cooking n extra bedding supplies. On the negative side, they don't tell you about all the extra charges for insurance, cleaning fees before n after, n that you need to haul away all your trash or that will be extra. Also extra as they inspect the yard n if your dog leaves any droppings you better pick it up our they will for a fee. They tell you about the trash n yard after you have paid in advance as you pick up the keys. They must not had a guest in that house for awhile as the patio was covered with leaves n the kitchen n dining tables where covered by dust. We cleaned it all n stayed 3 days n 2 nights n loved the cold air n cool days. Will try Airbnb next time, not so many rules n fee's.

Honestly the experience could be improved if the property was better maintained.

It was a nice and lovely place. The fireplace was just amazing! However, there was a few things about the cabin that can use fixing and touching up. I enjoyed it though.

Hi all, we purchased a voucher through Groupon and booked our stay for cabin #801 10/13/17-10/15/17. Just a simple weekend getaway. Pros: * super simple reservation * super simple check-in and vey friendly staff * our own 2 bd/ba cabin with fireplace and outdoor jacuzzi. * wifi * plenty of cookware, dishes, glasses etc. * the quiet of the neighborhood * books on hand if you want quiet reading time * approx 5 min drive from the downtown village area Cons: * master bedroom had no heating vents = cold!! * second bedroom takes on a lot of light * there was hair on the faucet of the bathroom sink, the floor, and in the basin of the shower. Upon drying off after showering (towels were clean and smelled of bleach) I found LONG DARK hair in my torso. I have short pink hair. * on the armrest of one of the sofas in the living room was an opened, uneaten chocolate bar. Thankfully, no bugs had found it yet. * When looking for additional blankets I found a stack in the guest room closet, neatly folded. I opened one up to find 'white stains ' on it... I didn't want to know. I put it back. After talking with my husband, when I was trying to decide between posting a review, or calling the front office, he reminded me... This isn't a 4-5 star hotel, and I used to run my own cleaning business. My standards for cleanliness are higher than most people's. Would we stay here again, if we got the same pricing as this visit, yes. However, if we paid full market pricing, I don't think I'd be returning.
