The Lodge Family Recreation area is wonderful. Ping Pong table with supplied paddles and balls. Horseshoe pit also supplied and of course the wonderful walk and view of the Lake. Can't beat it! However, the lodge we stayed in #100 needs some upgrades. The bathrooms decor is so outdated and the toilet is not secure in one of the bathrooms. The Kitchen floor is not even. Wearing shoes is a must for that kitchen floor because ,walking bare footed on that tile hurts your feet. The pool table is really not situated in a great spot. You have to step over the fireplace hearth to get around the pool table. The front door opens up to one of the bedrooms which is not very safe and the bed in that bedroom is rock hard. Our trip was planned for outdoor activities so we did not spend too much time inside, otherwise it was a fine lodge.

Had a nice relaxing time, but was disappointed in the cabin. The pictures were very deceptive. It looked bigger and nicer in the pictures than it really was.

The house has a very limited amount of cookware and utensils, there are only a couple of glasses to drink from.
Bring anything you believe you may need to cook with including salt and pepper.
The entire house could use a thorough deep cleaning.

First, I want to say the 3 stars is NOT for Big Bear Vacation staff. They were AMAZING and super friendly and accomodating and they gave us a pass to the Bear Valley Farms where the kids rode horses and went to the petting zoo. So, 5 stars BBV! Thank you Big Bear Vacations! The 3 stars is for the actual house. Beds were old and saggy, lack of any outdoor furniture and the views were not what we were hoping for considering this was luxury house. The house is about 200 ft from a very busy street and an ARCO station so you get to see that (along with the lake) and you get to HEAR the cars coming and going. The Game Room is what saved the day, amazing with ping pong, pool table, air hockey, PS3 and lots of board games. Overall, if there added a few more pieces of furniture and got some new mattresses this would have been a great place.

Deck needed a good sweep! Debris from trees enter house, no broom or dust pan . Only stayed two nights, wasn't worth the trouble to find a manager to secure broom. The beds were excellent! Everything inside was clean and we enjoyed our stay .

When I booked this location I had expected a place which is not perfectly up to date but well maintained and equipped. To be honest the location is great, we enjoyed it very much, but it is not clean, well equipped and well maintained. Considering this fact it is just too expensive.
And: The provider big bear vacations did not react on our verbal and eMail feedback.

Nice cabin and would stay again. However, the sheer curtain in the bedroom offered no privacy and the screen door didn't lock so we had to lock the slider causing us to be hot all night. Also, the mattress was quite uncomfortable. Nice location, had an enjoyable visit.

Has the best selection of cabins, but they aren't people ready. Bring your own dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags. Their response team for cabin problems typically take a long time. I've had problems 2/3 times I've been there. They've given me the wrong set of keys twice, and another they promised to deliver a shovel, so I could shovel the driveway. I ended up having to borrow one from a neighbor.

Rented a House for 2 nights: October $1100. Beautiful house. They will charge you for everything from late Checkout. They charge a cleaning fee of 300 which is outlandish, since you're required to take all the trash to the dump. Not worth the hassle, could have stayed home if I wanted work. I will look elsewhere, for better Value. The service Desk was Professional.

We go to Big Bear pretty much every New Years week which is the most expensive time but it's the only time we can all get together.
We rent a cabin every time too. One thing I have learned is to pick one or two that you like to choose from because you don't really know what you're going to get.
The marketing is like any other marketing in that it usually isn;t as nice as they make it sound but still pretty expensive. We have narrowed it down to a couple of them so we don't have to worry about that anymore but it was a process to get to this point.
Even when the cabin hasn't been what we expected we still enjoyed the snow and skiing and the overall experience and the staff is always helpful. My only advice would be to really investigate as well as possible. If you're close enough and can drive up some weekend before you rent that would be even better.

We rented a Platinum lake front home for a large sum. First the property is nothing more than a normal home: nothing luxurius about it! Just a large space. Very poorly organized. I wonder how their lower rated properties are like?
We had some cleaning issues with ants and some spider webs. The outside is not kept at all and is just a mess.
We put up with all these. Then we call because we needed trash bags and toilet paper. Their answer is they give just enough for our stay and we are welcome to go to them for more IF they have any to give!!!
You pay an arm and a leg and they meter your trash bags and toilet paper.
Such low class. Beware.

Beware of the late check out policy. In fairness, this company has to manage a huge number of properties and therefore rules and guidelines must be enforced to prevent chaos. But asking for, and receiving, a late check out is extremely common in the world of accommodations and lodging, and I asked for a couple extra hours on check-out day when it was already confirmed that no other tenant was checking in. I was told yes...for an additional $60. When I challenged it, I was told "late departures prevent new guests from booking and do cause the owners to lose a potential night of booking." When I replied "if late departures prevented a new guest from checking in, you would not be offering them in the first place". I paid the fee regardless, but lesson learned...

This place has too many vacation rentals it's basically out of control they need another office more workers I don't know man it's just they're overwhelmed. the people that were working there were nice enough but it was a complete hassle to go through this vacation agency.

I booked a cabin at Mishka's place. We were disappointed with the cleanliness of the place, especially with COVID 19. The floors were not mopped and there was trash under the bunk beds.
In addition, there were other issues:
Hot tub would only stay hot for about an hour and the jets were weak. They said that they would send someone to look at the hot tub, but no one ever showed up.
There were TVs all over the place without a connection to content so they were pretty much useless and the one TV that was connected to a cable box only caught shopping channels.
This place is huge but definitely rough around the edges. Not sure about their description of "Big Bear Vacation's newly enhanced commitment to provide thorough and professional cleaning, sanitation, and disinfection of all homes for the 2020 season and beyond!"
When I called the front desk they were very apologetic and said management would contact us shortly. Management never called me back and it has been 3 days thus far.

They pulled a bait and switch 30 minutes before we arrived. The home we paid for "was not cleaned" and thus unavailable. So they gave us a house we did not rent, but had to take because we were stuck with no other choice. Then we arrive at the replacement house and there is 4 feet of packed snow blocking our driveway. An hour later a snow plow arrives. Literally any other company but Big Bear Vacations.

The cabin was nice but not as clean as it should have been considering COVID and the extra fee you pay for COVID cleaning. The worst part is my child left a switch in the cabin I called the same day we left and it is magically not there. Either the staff did not clean well or they came up on a Nintendo Switch. We will definitely not be staying with them again. Very disappointed in the ethics of this company.

It has a great view however the tub I was Looking forward to in the master bathroom was broken
The down stairs jacuzzi was smelly , it smelt like dog poop we couldn’t hang out in the jacuzzi area
A lot of bugs and a can of bug spray that was empty didn’t help
The pillows had hairs !! So sad bunk bed was very wobbly

Had fun because lake was so close . I did like that but the porch was dirty we had to sweep before doing anything

Our cabin needs a major update and cleaning. The couches are so old and dirty when you sit down you sink almost to the floor. The oven broiler pan was in the cupboard with food on it. We were given only one dish towel and one trash bag for a three night stay and were told that’s all we were allowed and get our own.
