This was such an amazing trip, truly a trip of a lifetime. I researched several Safari companies before deciding on Micato and they delivered a dream experience in Africa that we will never forget! The daily game runs, the excellent meals and exquisite lodging could not have been better but the shining stars are the Micato tour guides,( here’s looking at you Julius and Gideon) game drivers and the entire Micato staff who took care of absolutely every concern or want we had.
Micato is more expensive than some of the other Safari Companies but in our opinion it was worth everything we spent. We were guided through all the airports in South Africa, Zimbabwe Kenya and Tanzania. We had a few snags with Kenya airlines which our guides took care off immediately. The bush flights between camps and countries were thrilling and gave us a lot more time to enjoy each place.
The best part of our trip was seeing the abundance of African animals from South Africa’s penguins to all the lions, giraffes, elephants, Cape buffalo, zebras, monkeys, thousands of different kinds of antelope, wild dogs, warthogs and even a beautiful leopard on the Masai Mara lands and in the Serengeti.
I always thought this trip would be a one and done, but we will go back to Africa and we will go with Micato.

Micato Safaris went above and beyond on our African Safari to Kenya and Tanzania. The Lodges and Tented camps were exceptional with great food and wonderful service. Our Safari Director provided little surprises on an almost daily basis- breakfast in the bush being watched over by inquisitive elephants. Lions eating their kill on a game drive late afternoon. It was seamless and no detail was overlooked. Every day the staff left us little handwritten notes and to see a fabulous bubble bath waiting after a spectacular hot air balloon ride, showed the attention to detail that made all the difference. Micato gives back every day by funding a school for children in Nairobi who might otherwise not get an education. This truly was the trip of a lifetime.

No wonder Micato won Best Safari Company 9 times! The Micato team exceeded our expectations at every turn. From the amazing support booking the trip, thanks to Leigh Rice. Air travel planning thanks to Becky Craft. Our East Africa team that handled every detail to perfection. Rufus our Safari Director, who not only managed every detail along the way, but his passion and extensive knowledge of the land and animals made our first Safari an unforgettable experience. Being met at the airport by Sima who ushered us through customs and immigration so helpful! Finally Caren who met us at the hotel when we checked in such a personable greeting to Africa. All in all we would Highly Recommend Micato to handle your Safari they are truly winners all the way around!

Our honeymoon with Micato Safaris to Kenya and Tanzania was nothing short of extraordinary! From the moment we started planning, the Micato team walked us through all the safari options within our budget, ensuring we found the perfect itinerary tailored to our dream trip. Their attention to detail before we even left—helping us pack the right items and ensuring we had all the necessary travel documents—was just the beginning of their exceptional service.
Micato handled every single aspect of our trip, so we didn’t have to worry about planning a thing. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, and we built genuine friendships with so many people we met along the way. We cannot thank our guide, Peter, enough for everything he did for us throughout the Safari. Knowing it was our honeymoon, he went above and beyond to make the safari feel extra special, from thoughtful surprises to personalized touches.
The lodges we stayed at were absolutely one-of-a-kind, each offering breathtaking views, luxurious accommodations, and incredible hospitality. We also had the opportunity to witness Micato’s nonprofit initiatives through AmericaShare and Huru. Seeing the meaningful work they do in Africa was deeply moving and added an extra layer of significance to our trip.
From the awe-inspiring wildlife encounters to the unparalleled service, Micato Safaris created an unforgettable honeymoon experience.
