My recent Micato experience was nothing short of exceptional.
Our Safari Director and Concierge team were always smiling and available to assist with any request, no matter how large or how small. The safari camps were very comfortable and equipped with modern conveniences, all of which utilized solar energy.
Meals were an experience not to be forgotten. Regional dishes made use of locally sourced ingredients and were expertly prepared and served.
Our Safari Director possessed an abundance of knowledge regarding all the wildlife that we viewed on our twice daily game drives.
I highly recommend choosing Micato Safaris for an experience that you will cherish long after you return home.

We went on the safari of a lifetime with Micato. The trip was perfect from the start. We requested a private trip with exceptional experiences and were not disappointed. The animal sighting was so amazing and the trek to see the Mountain Gorillas was magical. We left just wanting to come back. Our guides were exceptional and we still keep in contact with them. The trip from start to finish was unbelievable. Micato thought of everything you could possibly need or want, whether it was the sincere happy welcome, kindly staff everywhere, amazing food, and our guide Kennedy felt like family by the time we left. He was so informative and thoughtful. The lodging was fantastic everywhere we went, and Kennedy helped us through all of the airports, rode with us on all of the airplanes, game runs, etc. The scenery in East Africa was amazing. There isnt a picture though that can convey the way you feel when you are up close to a Lion, Hyena, Topi, Gazelle, Elephant and other animals. What a feeling. Literally every moment was either fun, exciting or relaxing. I have referred Micato to several family members and clients and will one day myself go back to Africa someday and of course use Micato. The trip was the experience of a lifetime. Thank you Micato!

I knew Micato’s reputation as the “best of the best” safari operator, but it’s one thing to read about it and another to actually experience it. From the moment we arrived at the airport in Nairobi, every conceivable detail was managed expertly. Even more impressive than the logistics excellence, however, was the genuine warmth and kindness that our family received from every single person we interacted with.
I’d recommend a Micato safari for anyone, but I think it’s particularly special for a family group. Because every detail of the trip was handled so flawlessly by Micato, our whole group was freed up to simply be together and marvel at the unique beauty of our surroundings.
While every Micato person was amazing, our safari director Philip warrants a special shout out. He has a deep wealth of knowledge on seemingly everything, is kind and wise, and so clearly loves his work. Our group came upon two lionesses and their eight cubs playing in the tall grass late one afternoon. As we watched them in silence from 20 feet away for over an hour, I think Philip was even more excited than we were. I’ve heard similar stories from many other Micato travelers about their safari directors. It's so clear that Micato is the type of company that attracts and retains remarkable people.
A few weeks after we got home, our family was talking about other possible destinations for future travel. My first choice would definitely be another safari with Micato. It’s hard to imagine any place more magical, and impossible to imagine a company that could create a more wonderful safari experience.
