I went on Micato’s The Heart of Kenya and Tanzania safari with no expectations, and the trip far exceeded anything that I could’ve imagined! The entire Micato team worked tirelessly to ensure that everything was wonderful, down to the tiniest detail. The food, accommodations, game drives, and service were all top-notch. Well done, Micato - thank you so much for an amazing adventure!

We had a fabulous time on our Grand African Safari. Everyone we interacted with at Micata - from Nick (our US Sales Representative), to Kenya Jackie (our African Concierge) and our Local Tour Directors (Sid and Raphael) - was a competent, caring professional who improved the quality of our travel experience. Our every need was not only anticipated, but also met by each of them. Because our tour was a “private one”, we had the opportunity to form strong bounds with both of our Tour Directors during the course of our journey. We have traveled to Africa on numerous occasions and experienced many safaris. Our Micato Safari was truly memorable one on so many levels.

Our safari with Micato was simply exceptional. After experiencing their impeccable service firsthand, it’s easy to understand why they have been recognized as the world’s #1 safari outfitter for ten consecutive years. Their commitment to excellence and attention to detail were evident at every step of our journey.
We were especially fortunate to have John Scorpio as our safari director and guide. It didn’t take long for our group to nickname him “The Whisperer.” His uncanny ability to track wildlife, anticipate animal behavior, and position us for unforgettable sightings was nothing short of extraordinary. Time and again, it felt as though the animals were posing just for us. Whether coaxing a leopard from a tree, finding elusive birds, or placing us in exactly the right spot at precisely the right moment, John’s instincts were remarkable. Guides of his caliber are exceedingly rare. His knowledge, patience, passion, calm confidence, and genuine care for every guest transformed an incredible safari into a truly unforgettable experience.
Perhaps the greatest testament to Micato’s philosophy came at the very end of the trip.
After our final game drive, rather than simply dropping us at the airport, Micato arranged for us to spend the evening at a beautiful hotel near Nairobi Airport. We had the opportunity to relax, enjoy an excellent dinner, shower, change into comfortable clothes for the long flight home, and unwind before our international departure.
When it was time to leave, the Micato team once again took over. They escorted us to the airport, guided us effortlessly through check-in, security, and immigration, and personally accompanied us to the airline lounge. Every potential stress point simply disappeared.
It was one final reminder of what sets Micato apart. They understand that the journey home is every bit as important as the journey out. By removing every inconvenience and every ounce of travel anxiety, they allowed us to leave Africa with nothing but extraordinary memories and a desire to return.
That level of care is something you never forget.

Our trip to Africa with Micato was fantastic! We were fortunate to work with Carson to plan our custom itinerary. Her thoughts and responsiveness to our inquiries and requests were most helpful. From our arrival in South Africa to our departure in Rwanda, we could not have asked for better guides and drivers. We have travelled all over the world and these people are truly the BEST. Not only were they experts in their field but they became part of our family. A giant shout out of appreciation to Shamala, Libby, Denis and Gervais. They always went out of their way to be sure we were comfortable and happy. We cannot leave without saying a special "thank you" to Denis who was our guide in East Africa for 10 days. Not only was he an excellent guide but an exceptional individual. Every detail of our trip was taken care of including arrivals at the airports, through immigration, baggage claim and departures. All of our accommodations were 5 star plus!! We were received with warm hospitality at each and every one of them. The dining experiences exceeded our expectations. It is hard to express what we experienced on safaris and gorilla trekking. Our pictures give us memories that we will never forget but seeing it in person is unforgettable. Micato is the BEST. If you are thinking about going - don't hesitate. It is a trip of a lifetime!!!

Our trip to East Africa was nothing short of AMAZING! Our entire family definitely enjoyed the trip of a lifetime. From seeing the Big 5 MULTIPLE times (plus many more animals and birds to list), enjoying the landscape, culture, and wonderful people of Kenya and Tanzania were more than we could have imagined. It goes without saying that every Micato touch point was superior, from the personal attention, to the food, and accommodations, all of which were outstanding. The hot air balloon ride during the migration and breakfast in the bush afterwards was very special as well.
The Micato staff was simply the best. A huge shout out to our safari guide Henry Kago for making sure every detail was taken care of, ensuring we saw all of the animals while educating us and making sure we were safe, was more than we could have asked for. He took every worry away! He certainly became part of our family!
Additional Micato personnel that deserve attention include our concierge in Nairobi, Virginia Njuguna, who just appeared out of nowhere every time we needed something (or thought we did!), and our Micato drivers (Julius in Nairobi, Andrew in Laikipia, and Simba in the Serengeti/Ngorongoro). They too were very special to us! Some tears were definitely shed as we said our farewells.
I would be remiss if I didn't share how moving the AmericaShare's visit was. I don't know how anyone could visit Kenya, Tanzania, and AmericaShare without being forever changed.
Finally, Nick Schroer with Micato did an outstanding job assisting us with the safari selection (The Hemingway Wing Safari) and guided us through every step from beginning to end! Most appreciated, Nick!
We will definitely be traveling back to Africa (South) and are considering a trip to India through Micato!

My husband and I had a wonderful Micato safari to Namibia and South Africa three years ago (shout out to Brian in Cape Town) and enjoyed it so much that we wanted to return to Africa to see more.
With the help of Micato Safari Specialist, Ariel, we planned a custom three week trip in June to Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa (including Cape Town), and gorilla trekking in Rwanda.
Our safari director, Iggy, travelled with us and made border crossings and flight logistics seamless. He took all of the stress away from us, and he was fun to be with!
Each camp was unique with great food, friendly staff, and excellent game drivers and trackers. Local guides were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
Being all-inclusive, you never have to worry about gratuities, laundry service is included, local concierges are always available, and you are welcomed and accompanied through the airports. You are never left to figure out things by yourself which can be overwhelming when traveling through so many different countries. Their attention to detail is incredible.
Micato is the ultimate in safari travel. We recommend 100%!
