I recently returned from my fourth (!) safari with Micato.
Yes, they have won me over.
This one was to Southern Africa.
After luxuriating for two nights at the Saxon in Johannesburg, where we visited the very moving Apartheid Museum, we headed off on safari.
We stayed at Phinda Forest Lodge and Ulusaba Safari Lodge in South Africa. Two different environments, with excellent trackers and guides, and up-close-and-personal game experiences.
Then off to Victoria Falls and to Verney's Camp, both in Zimbabwe. Verney's was remote and peaceful, with scores of elephants visiting the watering hole. The hosts and staff, and the Zimbabwean people in general, made it impossible for me to *not* fall in love with them.
Finally, on to Sossusvlei Desert Lodge in Namibia. It's located in the oldest desert on the planet, at the edge of Africa's only Dark Sky Reserve, just about as remote as one can get,. It does not disappoint. Helicopter sightseeing and ballooning were beyond stunning. The sustainable lodge pampered us, while remaining eco-friendly. Oh, I fell in love with the Namibian people as well.
Micato takes care of all the details, overlooking nothing, so you can bathe in the splendor.
Safari changes you.
Oh, and I have already booked my next trip for next year.
