Top notch safari company. This was my first time going on a safari and it was excellent. Everything went as planned. The company was very prepared to deal with the Covid situation and I felt very safe with their updated protocols. I would highly recommend

My family and I traveled to Kenya to go on a Safari over thanksgiving 2020. It is very difficult for me to put into words how amazing this trip was. I have no doubt that I will be back and I can only hope it is with Micato. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. The guides knew everything about anything in the area and communication wasn't an issue.

My friend and I took our first trip to Africa in October 2020. It was the most amazing trip I’ve ever taken. I don’t say that lightly I’ve taken some amazing trips to Egypt, Scotland & Ireland they were all amazing but nothing compares to Tanzania with Micato. They tell you that you might come for the animals but you will miss the people and I do. Rodgers & Arnold took the best care of us! We saw the big 5 all of them, Arnold found a rhino in the crater to ensure we would see them all. In addition to anything in the park we wanted to see. Rogers got us to three hunting cheetahs in the Serengeti. Just WOW. He also remembered my favorite bird and I made sure I didn’t miss the photo. Because they were both watching the game all the time I have the most incredible pictures! Your driver matters more than you expect because it’s he who stops the jeep in time for the best shot after your guide does the spotting. We loved them both, but I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the staff at each lodge who were just so welcoming that I really didn’t want to leave. Oliver’s camp in particular where the staff never missed an opportunity to sing a cheerful greeting. It was a highlight of our stay.
Each activity was sublime I have to shout out to Serengeti Balloons our hot air balloon service again it was the most incredible experience and the the crew from the driver to the pilot were so professional and welcoming they raised the bar on perfect service just a little higher. One of the crew even took our picture with my camera as we prepared for take off. Not because we asked but because he knew we would love the ride and want a photo! I’m so happy to have that picture so I can recall the fastest 60 minutes of my life; the ride and the sights all came together for a magical moment.
Yes we were there during Covid, no we were not afraid. Everyone took care to practice safe protocols and now in December I can tell you we are fine. I would do it all again in a heartbeat. If you have been dreaming of Africa go now before the crowds return.

My family and I recently returned from a Micato-planned safari in Africa. I've traveled the world, and this was easily the BEST TRIP I have ever been on - a testament to Micato and their wonderful staff (with remaining credit going to the lions, giraffes and elephants)!
From trip planning, to accommodations, to ensuring we felt comfortable traveling during a pandemic, Micato was EXCEPTIONAL. Our trip planner helped design a diverse safari that included a variety of terrain and wildlife and was an invaluable guide in ensuring we stayed in the best possible accommodations at each stop. The on-the-ground support staff ensured that we were well looked after every step of the way (literally from arrival customs to our final departure). And last but certainly not least, our safari guide, Peter, truly set the experience apart in his knowledge of Kenya and its wildlife. Peter left no question unanswered (literally!), and was such a pleasure to spend our time in Africa with.
Among many distinguishing traits, Micato's commitment to have top-notch safari guides travel with you and be a constant resource and invaluable second set of trained eyes when searching for animals cannot be underscored. We were consistently the first car at key wildlife viewing events and felt so fortunate to have Peter and his wealth of knowledge accompany us on our trip.
Through our time in Africa, we met many travelers who were either on a self-planned trip or were going through another safari outlet, and it was abundantly clear to me that there are 2 ways to go on a safari: (1) through Micato and (2) not through Micato. I'd strongly recommend you go with option #1!

Had an amazing time on safari with Micato in East Africa. Our guides were very nice and made the trip very special for us. So many extra precautions were taken to ensure our safety during the pandemic. I highly recommend traveling with Micato. The animals were absolutely incredible.
