TL;DR: For exemplary sales and service, buy your next bike here.
I had been wanting another bike for a while, but my endeavor to go through the shopping process filled me with dread. My experiences with dealerships (including cars) has not been good and dealing with repairs has always been a hassle.
I did not intend to walk out having purchased a bike, much less a 2007 one. I wanted something newer because I did not want to worry about repairs.
Instead, I bought a 2007 Honda VTX with under 10k miles.
What sold me on it?
There were five main things:
1. The last bike I had was an 1800 VTX, so familiarity.
2. Lucky Penny's extensive inspection.
3. The bike was nearly pristine.
4. Lucky Penny does local towing for $50 (I think).
5. I bought a full coverage warranty.
Bre, my salesperson, was incredible. Even though I considered (and even test rode) more expensive bikes, she neither pressured me to buy anything else nor did she rush me.
But the exemplary sales process was only half the experience and not enough for me to endorse them.
Fast forward a few weeks and my bike would no longer start (fortunately, it was in my garage). Suffice it say, this was exactly why I had an aversion to buying an older bike.
Their service department had me test the battery and it was fine, so they towed it to the shop. They called and told me it started fine. However, rather than leave it at that, they kept digging.
It started 9 times out of 10.
Since getting stranded 10% of the time is not a good experience, they kept digging, found a loose wire, fixed it, then towed it back to me. And they did not charge me for the towing.
I have not had a single problem since then.
Exemplary sales and service has earned them a fan in a field where trust is hard to earn.
