VEGANS: PAY ATTENTION. I WISH THERE WAS SOMETHING MORE EMPHATIC THAN CAPITAL LETTERS TO DESCRBIBE THE HEAVENLY DESSERT AT THIS UNGODLY ESTABLISUMENT. IT WALKS THE LINE BETWEEN ANGELIC AND DEVILISH, CREATING A SUPERNOVA OF WARM GOLDEN FLOWING FLAVOR THAT THE SWEET SWEET MAN PROVIDES FOR YOU. HE PROVIDES! MmmmmHHHH. I am currently contemplating dedicating my life to spreading the vegan pasteis de nada throughout the world brb…

Transcendent. Absolutely incredible Portuguese egg tarts. These are better than the original pasteis de nata in Belem, Portugal. Stop reading this and go here now instead. The frozen ones reheat amazingly well and even the cooked ones can refrozen can be reheated perfectly based on the directions on the box.

I can only comment on the original tarts. It's all we had. But they were so good. Way better than any other egg tart we have had. I would highly recommend.

Just come here for desert and get one of their pastéis de nata. I would suggest passing by, ordering on their window and just enjoying them while walking around. I seriously doubt you can manage to eat only one. Wish they had a location in either the Upper East or Upper West side…

Joey Bats is a little slice of Portugal in NYC. Great coffee and pastéis de nata that beat those that I've had in Belém. Completely recommend for a quick snack or a sit-down hand and cheese while watching a footie game on their shed TVs!

Pastéis are perfect as they always are here. If you’ve had them in Portugal this is the closest good ones you’ll find. Tried their bica recheada (a stuffed twisted sandwich) which was delicious and their bifana was amazing (not on the menu but a special). Worth going out of your way to try.

Not a fancy place, but just great. Those egg tarts, amazing. We come here regularly just for the egg tarts, we gift them, we bring them for friends. The service is always friendly and legit.
