KINDY SNAPSHOTS // Every day in Kindergarten is a new learning adventure! Recently KT students met with their Year 6 buddies who read to them and led a game of 'Duck, Duck, Goose'. HIGH ACHIEVERS // We welcomed some of our 2022 HSC High Achievers and their families to celebrate their achievements at our special Principal’s Assembly today. Inspiring speeches were given by Mrs Graydon, Dux Imogen Coward and State Member Mrs Tanya Davies MP. Our Senior School students were encouraged to set the bar high, to be themselves, and to not wait for things to get easy - instead, to exercise our Mamre values of Tenacity and Courage to do and be their best even when things are hard. #mamrelearning

READY FOR A CHALLENGE? // Our Cadet Rural Fire Brigade is recruiting new members from Years 7 & 8 to join our brigade. Training takes place on Friday afternoons after school. An information evening will be held on Tuesday 7 March at 7pm in the Senior Studies Centre for interested students and their parents and carers. You will be able to inspect our fire station and fire tanker as well as a tanker from Erskine Park Rural Fire Brigade. Current and former Cadets will be sharing about the experiences. IS YOUR CHILD STARTING YEAR 7 IN 2024? Mamre Anglican School's successful Peer Support Program is just one way we smooth your child's transition to high school. - Our three day Year 7 Orientation Program in November of Year 6 helps them make new friends and familiarise themselves with the routines they will experience in Year 7 and beyond. - Our Year 7 Core Program provides linkages across subjects enabling deeper inquiry based learning. - House based Connect Groups provide a sense of belonging and identity for students as they undertake our social and emotional learning program (SEL). We are welcoming prospective and current families to our Year 7 2024 Information Expo on Monday 1 May from 7.00pm to 8.30pm. Tours of the school are also available and can be booked on our website. BUILDING BLOCKS OF LIFE // As part of their study of genetics, Year 10 Science students have been exploring DNA. They extracted strands of DNA from strawberries to examine under a microscope and then made models of a section of the chemical structure of DNA. How awesome is the intricate detail of God’s creation! #mamrelearning

PEER SUPPORT // Year 7 students will be commencing their Peer Support Program led by Year 10 students tomorrow. Last year, Peer Support Australia visited Mamre to make a video of our successful program as an example of best practice to assist other schools.
