STUDENT LEADERSHIP // Earlier this week we inducted our 2024 Mamre Student Leadership Team in the Senior School. The SLT comprises a dynamic group of students from Year 7 to 11 who epitomise the spirit of leadership, dedication, and service within our school community. These students embody the core values of Mamre Anglican School and demonstrate exceptional qualities that make them natural leaders among their peers. We look forward to their service to our community!

IN THE SWIM // Earlier this week our Primary School Swimming Carnival has held as a stand alone event for the first time, instead of being combined with the Senior School. The children were able to demonstrate their speed in the pool in competitive races and also participate in novelty events. It was wonderful to see so many children having fun. A few of the teachers and parents got into the spirit in relay races and boat races. The cheering could be heard back at Mamre with so many enthusiastic House Chants. Well done to all of the amazing students who really did make the most of the event. Can't wait for next year!

GRANDPARENTS DAY // Yesterday over 500 grandparents and special guests visited Mamre as part of our annual Grandparents Day. After being greeted by our RFS Cadets, our visitors attended our Easter Chapel service where student and staff performances helped us to worship God and hear about the Good News of God's love for us celebrated at Easter. Junior School classes opened their doors to showcase their learning, before sharing morning tea with their families in our spacious grounds and visiting the Book Fair in the Library. Finally, the Easter Hat Parade in The Stadium capped off a wonderful day of community celebration.

HARMONY AND COMMUNITY // Harmony Day at Mamre this week was a wonderful example of the strength of our community. We celebrated both our diversity in its many forms and our unity in Christ. Senior School connect groups from Years 7 to 12 spent time with all Junior School classes sharing in multiple activities, including chatting to get to know each other, decorating our "sea of hands" and playing outdoor games together. Smiles abounded from the younger children as they looked up to the older students, while the smiles of the older students demonstrated their interest and care for their younger peers. Everyone belongs!

FAITH & SERVICE - WHOLE SCHOOL CHAPEL // A wonderful time of learning and praising God took place in our first whole school Chapel for 2024 this morning. Mr Foxall and helpers led one of our favourite songs, The Fruit of the Spirit. Mr Statheos talked about the faith of the Roman centurion in Luke 7:1-10 and told the story of French acrobat Charles Blondin who pushed a wheelbarrow across a tightrope at Niagara Falls. Mr Whelan reflected on our exciting future and how we can use our gifts to serve others. It was great to have so many parents joining us this morning.
