NATIONAL RECONCILIATION WEEK | This morning, our community gathered for a special Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony led by our indigenous students. Helena Hollamby (St Mary’s Aboriginal Education Officer) explained the importance of Acknowledgement of Country and the National Reconciliation Week 2025 theme, #BridgingNowtoNext. We welcomed Gumarra (Uncle Richard) to perform the Smoking Ceremony. This ancient spiritual ritual invited everyone to reflect and purge, where the smoke cleanses us and our space of negative energy and promotes a sense of connection to each other, ancestral spirits and to the land. Let’s listen. Let’s learn. Let’s lead. #SmokingCeremony #NRW2025 #NowMoreThanEver #ReconciliationWeek #StMarysCollege #BridgingTheNowToNext #AlwaysWasAlwaysWillBe #AOC
