EPIC SHOWDOWN FESTIVAL OF FOOTBALL | What a thrilling day it was at Ian McClennan Park as St. Mary’s took on the challenge in the Inaugural Festival of Football hosted by Holy Spirit College! The field was ablaze with energy as 4 teams battled it out for the coveted Challenge Shield in the U13, U14, U15, and Opens categories.
Our U14 squad displayed their true prowess, securing a triumphant 3-1 victory! The competition was fierce, with U13 giving their all but ending with a 1-2 result. The U15s held their ground with a thrilling 2-2 draw, showcasing their unwavering spirit.
The Opens match kept us on the edge of our seats until the very end. Despite an awe-inspiring effort, Holy Spirit College snatched the win with a late goal, sealing their claim to the Shield.
Congratulations to Grace Duggan(U13), Talia Franklin(U14), Cate Giason(U15) and Helena Helios-Lewis(Opens) being awarded players of the match for their age group.
Well done to all the teams for their incredible performances and sportsmanship! You've left us all in anticipation for the next year's Festival of Football. We're confident the Shield will make its triumphant return to St. Mary’s in 2024!
The St Mary’s Community where also in World Cup Spirit with Staff and students wearing a touch of Green and Gold in support of the Matilda’s semi final tonight. Good Luck Tilly's!
