Quail Forever is proud to announce three new chapters spread out across the bobwhite’s historic range in Kansas, Arkansas, and Texas . In each chapter, new ranks of volunteers will provide a welcome boost to habitat conservation work, hunter recruitment and advocacy efforts in their respective communities. Learn more about these new chapter, and how to get involved at the link below. https://quailforever.org/BlogLanding/Blogs/Quail-Forever/New-chapters-founded-in-Kansas,-Arkansas-and-Texas.aspx Unique among national conservation organizations, the new chapters of Quail Forever will retain 100 percent decision-making control over their locally raised funds. Under this model, volunteers can develop wildlife habitat projects and conduct conservation education events in their region, while belonging to a national organization with a voice regarding state and federal conservation policy.
What’s Good for the Herd is Good for Upland Birds. “When you’re incorporating good grazing management, good woody plant control, accompanying that with prescribed fire; those are the ingredients that your grassland birds need. Those are also the ingredients that as a livestock producer you’re going to need as well, so it all ties back together through the Working Lands for Wildlife Program.” Tanner Swank, PF & QF Coordinating Biologist in Oklahoma #quailforever #quail #grasslands #uplandbirds
