Spring temperatures are in the air (at northern latitudes maybe for the first time) after a winter of heavy snows that left behind a white desert across the northern Great Plains and upper Midwest. This past winter serves as a good reminder to upland enthusiasts about the importance of a secure and robust food source. Similarly, the songs of gobbling turkeys, crowing roosters and whistling quail should remind us about the need for quality nesting and brood rearing cover. NEW QUAIL FOREVER CHAPTERS FOUNDED IN ALABAMA AND ARKANSAS! 🔗Link below to learn more. Quail Forever is proud to announce the formation of two new Quail Forever chapters in Alabama and Arkansas. Spread across America’s historic quail range, new ranks of chapter volunteers will provide a welcomed boost to habitat conservation work, hunter recruitment, and fundraising efforts in their respective communities. Rocket City Chapter - Northern Alabama: The Rocket City Chapter of Quail Forever is based in Madison County, Alabama. Over 30 people recently attended the group’s first event in Huntsville. The group hopes to focus on habitat development, land owner education, and legislative support at the federal, state and local levels. Fort Chaffee Chapter - Western Arkansas The Fort Chaffee Chapter of Quail Forever is based in Arkansas’ Sebastian, Crawford, Logan and Franklin counties. The chapter will meet on the last Monday of each month, and the usual meeting location will be Neumeier’s Whippoorwill Restaurant at 509 Garrison Ave in Fort Smith, Ark. The chapter plans to host a fundraising event and a Hands on Habitat event this summer.

Since its first land acquisition in 1986, PF & QF have created more than 220,000 acres of permanently protected and publicly accessible upland wildlife habitat. The Build a Wildlife Area program is one of the organization’s signature tools helping grow that acre total even larger. Episode Highlights: - Laux explains the variety of ways PF & QF work with federal and state agencies to permanently protect critical habitat and create public access. Agencies interested in discussing a land acquisition with PF & QF should connect with Laux at jlaux@pheasantsforever.org. - Sytsma adds to the discussion with his knowledge around the role chapters, donors, and corporate partners play in helping fund permanent protection.
