****ATTENTION****
The Cullman Police Department has received numerous calls regarding local citizens being contacted by scammers claiming to be employees with the Cullman Police Department and asking for donations.
These scammers are asking individuals to leave the donations in their mailbox, and they will come by their residence to pick the donations up, at a certain time, from their mailbox. On one occasion, that we are aware of, there has been a woman show up wearing a black shirt and khaki shorts to the residence in order to retrieve the donation.
This is a scam. Please DO NOT leave a donation for the Cullman Police Department in your mailbox.
Don't forget to sign up for our 1st Cullman Law Enforcement and Community Services Golf Tournament.

Thank you Officer Chad Ashworth and Officer Ryan Whisenhunt for going above and beyond!
First National Bank recently began sponsoring a program to recognize local employees. They reached out to the City of Cullman asking to recognize some of our outstanding employees. So, each quarter, City of Cullman department heads will have the option of nominating someone from their department who has gone above and beyond the call or duty or who is just an overall outstanding employee. Once all nominations are received each quarter, a panel comprised of folks from various City departments will read the information submitted by the department heads and vote on the candidates. Those receiving the most votes will receive a $25.00 gift card from First National Bank!
• Chad Ashworth, Police: During the 2023 2A State Track Meet, an athlete dislocated his hip in the hurdle race. Chad assisted the young man and his coaches get to the hospital, which was a great help to them since they were from South Alabama and the athlete had no family with him at the event. The athlete returned to the meet the next day with his family to thank Officer Ashworth for his help. Congratulations, Chad!
• Ryan Whisenhunt, Police Reserves: Recently a woman from Arab, who was pregnant and traveling with her 12-year-old daughter, had a flat tire in Cullman. The woman posted later on her Facebook page that Office Ryan Whisenhunt “got straight to work to change my tire.” She was very appreciative of his help and impressed with his concern for them, stating that he was “a genuinely nice guy.” Congratulations, Ryan!
Each winner is showing receiving their $25 VISA Gift Card from Stephen McRea, Marketing Executive with First National Bank. Thank you, Mr. McRea and First National Bank for recognizing the City of Cullman’s outstanding employees!
