** Scam Warnings **
1) Recently individuals have been calling tire dealers asking to order thousands of dollars' worth of tires. The caller uses one or more stolen credit card numbers to purchase the tires, sends another individual to pick up the tires and the credit card companies are denying payment on the sale, leaving the business with a huge loss. DO NOT LET SOMEONE USE MULTIPLE CARDS TO MAKE ANY PURCHASE.
2) Local franchise stores have been getting calls from someone claiming to be from the regional/corporate office. The caller convinces an employee to take money from the register to purchase bitcoin. IF THIS HAPPENS, DO NOT TAKE MONEY FROM THE REGISTER. INSTEAD, CALL AND NOTIFY YOUR IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR.

Autism, also known as autism spectrum disorder, refers to a wide range of conditions typically marked by challenges and developmental delays with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and communication.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, an estimated 1 in 59 children in the United States is diagnosed with autism.
Because autism is a spectrum disorder, each person with autism is impacted differently. The ways in which people with autism learn, think and problem-solve can range from highly skilled to severely challenged, according to autism awareness organizations.
This challenge was started by the New Rochelle Police Department of Westchester County, NY in February 2017. New Rochelle Police Detective Chris Grecco and his wife are the parents of an autistic child.
Today, after an extensive interview and background process, seven new Cullman Police Department officers were sworn in by Mayor Woody Jacobs. The officers will attend the Northeast Alabama Law Enforcement Academy in May and will have 14 weeks of field training after they graduate.

Captain Jeff Warnke and SRO Seth Sullivan spent part of last week at The Alabama Association of School Resource Officers (TAASRO) Leadership Symposium.
This two day, intensive conference hosted by TAASRO brought together experts from around the country to discuss topics such as the importance of maintaining good relationships between School Resource Officers and school officials, targeted school violence prevention, recommendations about how to improve School Resource Officer programs from the National Association of School Resource Officers, and perspective on the Sandy Hook School tragedy from a parent and a first responder from Newton, CT.
Sullivan is very involved with school safety throughout the year. In fact, he is the Vice-President of TAASRO, Region 6 Director for the National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO), serves on the Florida Association of School Resource Officers (FASRO) board, and serves on the Alabama School Safety Task Force for the Alabama State Department of Education. Lessons learned at the Leadership Symposium will be used to continue improving our School Resource Officer program and keeping the children of Cullman City Schools safe.
