CELEBRATING OUR MUMS // After a glorious sunrise, many of our students and their mothers, grandmothers, great-grandmothers and other significant ladies in their life joined together on the lawn and in the Hall for our Mothers Day Breakfast. Our photo booth, thanks to I & Z Balloon Creations & Events, was a big hit! It was a wonderful celebration of the love and care we receive from our Mums and an opportunity to thank and honour them.

Students commence Term 2 on Tuesday 30 April. For the first two weeks of term, students may wear either their summer or winter school uniform (not a combination of both). Senior School students will be issued with new timetables on Tuesday morning.

LEST WE FORGET // Our School Captains and Vice Captains joined about 4000 people at the St Marys ANZAC Day Dawn Service this morning to remember the sacrifice and commitment of those who have served, and continue to serve, in Australia’s defence forces. Tamara and Flynn read a prayer for our nation and the group laid a wreath on behalf of our school community.
In the words of Jesus from John 15, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
We will remember them.

END OF TERM LUNCHTIME FUN // Today our Junior School Leaders held an end of term fun lunch for students in Kindergarten to Year 6. There were a range of fun activities that included Just Dance, skipping, a paper aeroplane contest, a handball competition and a "guess how many jellybeans are in the jar" game. Everyone was participating in an activity all lunch. To quote the Year 6 leaders, "It was a blast!"
Enjoy the holidays. School resumes on Tuesday 30 April, using Week B of the timetable.

CROSS COUNTRY // After the wild weather of last weekend, yesterday was a picture perfect day for our annual Cross Country Carnival. Students enjoyed running the course through our own bushland and around the school grounds. Like all good cross country courses, there was some mud, but most competitors managed to stay clean.

STUDENT LEADERSHIP // Earlier this week we inducted our 2024 Mamre Student Leadership Team in the Senior School. The SLT comprises a dynamic group of students from Year 7 to 11 who epitomise the spirit of leadership, dedication, and service within our school community. These students embody the core values of Mamre Anglican School and demonstrate exceptional qualities that make them natural leaders among their peers. We look forward to their service to our community!

GRANDPARENTS DAY // Yesterday over 500 grandparents and special guests visited Mamre as part of our annual Grandparents Day. After being greeted by our RFS Cadets, our visitors attended our Easter Chapel service where student and staff performances helped us to worship God and hear about the Good News of God's love for us celebrated at Easter. Junior School classes opened their doors to showcase their learning, before sharing morning tea with their families in our spacious grounds and visiting the Book Fair in the Library. Finally, the Easter Hat Parade in The Stadium capped off a wonderful day of community celebration.

HARMONY AND COMMUNITY // Harmony Day at Mamre this week was a wonderful example of the strength of our community. We celebrated both our diversity in its many forms and our unity in Christ. Senior School connect groups from Years 7 to 12 spent time with all Junior School classes sharing in multiple activities, including chatting to get to know each other, decorating our "sea of hands" and playing outdoor games together. Smiles abounded from the younger children as they looked up to the older students, while the smiles of the older students demonstrated their interest and care for their younger peers. Everyone belongs!
