We had heard about how good and complete Micato Safaris were and when we embarked on our very recent African Splendour vacation, Micato had a lot to live up to. And they did!! From our wonderful guides in Cape Town( Judith) and Victoria Falls( Dean) to our safari director( Lewela) and our drivers were all exceptional in their knowledge and attention to every detail. Our entry into every country was seamless, the accommodations were excellent, and our memories will be joyously remembered! You cannot go wrong with Micato. And the other four people in our group were terrific in every respect.

Before we even left for our trip, the preplanning assistance provided gave us a strong sense of comfort. From the moment we arrived in Cape Town, SA we felt the “Micato Touch”. From that moment forward we felt welcome and cared for at every point in our amazing journey. Our Safari Directors (Trevor, Leza and Phillip) were incredibly competent and caring and did everything possible to ensure that we had extraordinary experiences. They exhibited passion for the industry and their commitment to satisfying Micato’s important clients. The airport assistance, transportation, driver guides, tours, game drives, accommodations, meals, and all of the special events/touches contributed to an adventure we’ll never forget. It was also a surprise to meet Mrs. Pinto…an honor for sure. It’s obvious that Micato has been fine tuning their approach for a long time and are keenly focused on their client experience.

I had been to East Africa before but this trip with my 23 y/o daughter I wanted to be extra special. From months before we embarked to the trip and beyond, Micato answered all of my questions and I felt that I was in great hands. I wanted to be with Micato to ensure we would be safe and well taken care of, and we were. We of course saw animals, but it was so much more - it was cultural immersion, it was being able to ask any question and to begin to scrape these complex countries of religion, politics and economies and how they are intertwined with animals and such vast landscapes. We are already planning our next Micato trip and will bring more family with us. Additionally, our safari director, Lewela, has phenomenal emotional intelligence and could relate so well to multiple age groups making us feel connected to the other members of our trip.

Superb service on every aspect of our safari, including last minute re-arranging the scheduled itinerary due to a flight delay causing us to miss the first day of our trip.

My husband and I decided to take a trip to Eastern Africa for our 30th wedding anniversary. We started doing research a couple years before we planned to take our trip. The Micato name kept coming up. After reading reviews and contacting the company and reading their brochures, we decided to book with Micato. It was the very best decision we could have possibly made. If you know you want to take an African safari, this is by far the best company to travel with. Every possible glitch in the trip was seen miles down the road and was never a glitch. I cannot put into words how smoothly our trip went. I am not sure how they do it, but it was like they knew what our dream vacation looked like, and then they made it happen. We are simple people, and we were treated like royalty. Jane Pinto, the owner, even travelled to our hotel the first morning to see us off. She surprised us on our anniversary with a gift in our room and a handwritten note. (Who does that?!) This company is a family. You feel like family when you are with them. Every Micato staff member was friendly, professional, kind, gracious, and someone we truly miss now that we are at home.
We booked the Hemmingway Safari with the gorilla trek extension. Our guide worked magic to help us see every animal we wanted to see. The experience was up close and personal. There was not one question we could not ask. I learned so much about this part of the world; I am forever changed. I will spend the rest of my days praising this company, the people who work for Micato, and all the people we met in all the lovely camps/resorts we stayed in.
