Worst experience ever! If you have an emergency with your pet and if you want to save him/her, STOP and find another clinic/vet - do NOT spend crucial time that might dictate their survival with these (UN)professionals. Our dog was going through an anaphylactic reaction (swollen and purple tongue, struggling to breathe) and when we finally managed to arrive at Goddards (after a few unsuccessful attempts to reach them out via phone while driving our way to the clinic), one of the receptionists told us very reluctantly that they could try to arrange an appointment with one of their vets at 5.30pm. The problem is that this was at 1.45pm and our dog was struggling to breathe for almost 30min by then). There was no attempt to assess our dog/emergency at all and the waiting room was empty. There were no efforts to tell us where to go nor what to do, considering their unavailability and unwillingness to assess and treat our dog. We then managed to find another clinic/vet who promptly assessed our dog, gave him steroids and saved him from the worse. A few more minutes and he would not be with us anymore (an adorable golden retriever with 16 months).

I have been using goddards for years and although sometimes a delay as they get emergency cases the majority of staff here are excellent. My favourite vet is Esin and my favourite nurse is Helen. Amazing people! Updated as now leaving the practice due to a hous move: Firstly, thank you for being so wonderful for Monkey over 8 years. You're wonderful. Everyone is busy, and yet always able to help. I want to thank the receptionists especially who get the brunt of all the worried or angry pet owners. You have been lovely to me, and monkey, and always helpful, even when clearly so busy. I will miss you guys! I have just moved to West Ham and would like to move my Goddards practice to the west ham branch on church road/Plaistow Lane. Are you able to tell me what I need to do? I wasn't s

Very disappointed with the aftercare provided from them, my vat was hit by a car, which cost me over £2500 and was told when collecting him if i have any concerns to call back immediately, more than 24 hours yet no call back its been more than 2 days since my cat has eaten or drank something, this is absolutely ridiculous service

Ignore their reply, they are still refusing to accept any negligence /lack of care has occurred, and are refusing to give me any reduction to their EXTORTIONATE fees. ❗❌⛔ AVOID THIS VET GROUP if you care about your dog. Like many others negative reviews on here, I too have had an APPALLING EXPERIENCE with Goddard's. They put profits and £££ before the health and well-being of living-beings. Their level of NEGLIGENCE has been off the charts. They seemed to think my dog having internal bleeding was not worthy of immediate attention by a vet, and told me to monitor him and feed him bland foo - which is what you ONLY do when they have diarrhoea NOT internal bleeding issues! The issues were caused by their failure to notify me of the risks posed by Meloxidyl painkillers. They are now trying to scrub their hands of any fault. Because of this my dog carried on suffering for another 17 hours and deteriorated in that time. Eventually a vet came on duty who could see he needed immediate medical attention via the images I emailed them. However now the you expect me to pay 4 figures for their appalling services.

We were charged over £1,200 for a 2-day stay of our pet, a few tests, some minor medical treatment and no diagnosis. If you don’t have insurance or aren’t wealthy, avoid this place.

I needed to check an appointment time, and I called 6 times within business hours (waiting for up to 20 minutes each time), but calls were not picked up, nor were they returned. When I called the emergency number, i got a snotty receptionist who insisted I call back using the no emergency option. I asked if she could see the appointments and she said yes, but refused to check. What a small minded, sanctimonious jobs worth, who appeared to take pleasure in this miniscule power at her disposal. I hope Godards read this, it happened at 1053 4/10/22 please reprimand your employee, the receptionist sounded like an older lady. All this after a 3 week wait for an appointment

As per reading reviews, I’ve noticed a pattern with them. I can also say they don’t only neglect animals but also staff. I was very appalled at the way I was treated, especially since being in a critical condition days before my last shift. I was left to fend on my own caring for inpatients, I noticed vets delaying and even forgetting medicines given overnight even though it was not busy at all. I wouldn’t recommend Wanstead as a choice of vet or workplace.
