Took our cat to the hospital after being told it was an emergency from our local Goddard vet. Our cat apparently had blocked bladder and needed draining. They used a catheter which didn't work and kept coming out. They tried to charge me to put it back in but I challenged it and said it should have been done right the first time, why would I pay again. Did me me favour by not charging and only charged me for the anesthetic. The blood test and Xray showed no crystals stones or anything that could be blocking his bladder. The medication they gave worked better than the actual treatment. Charged us over 2.4k for something that probably wasn't required. Got a call after 1.5 weeks to say blood test also showed nothing so what did we pay 2.4k for exactly. Medication was clearly enough. Just a complete ripp off, receptionist are quite rude too. Should boycot and go to another vet or hospital that will not try and add to your bill.

I’ve been in and out of this vets everyday for the past 4 days with my poorly dog Lennie and every single person I’ve come into contact with has been brilliant. From the people answering the phone to the ladies on reception to all the vets that we spoke to. Everyone was kind, helpful, knowledgable and very sympathetic.

I was so upset as my 20 year old tortoise was attacked in the garden, he was bleeding and damaged, i called Leyton midland vets, who flatly refused to see him, even though i was crying, the receptionist was so nasty on the phone, and even hung up on me, so we headed to wanstead who immediately took my tortoise through to the vet, the receptionist was all so kind, and the vet called me in to explain everything to me, I was so grateful to them, brilliant vets.

I asked for an anal gland removal quote in December 2023. I was quoted aproxx £2600. I was not keen to have this procedure but my dog is still having issues after trying everything else. I checked with another vet and was quoted half this amount from another clinic with great reviews. I went back and mentioned to Goddard about the other vet fees and asked them to check if the quote was definitely double. Well… they got back to me and the quote is now aproxx £3 instead…. The query about double price was ignored and I tried to bring that up. Also a referral cost of £83, in their opinion is justifiable. Even though I am registered with their Mile End clinic. In a nutshell: they don’t seem interested in providing a good but honestly priced service. I have insurance but I don’t like how they handled the query at all. Ps: I mentioned the issue a few times and was ignored so I won’t waste any more time to prepare a complaint. There is no point.

This place is obsessed with money. My first dog they broke her jaw when she went in for a procedure and made it seem like it wasn't them but it was. Made it seem like they were being really generous by not charging us for it. But reality is we should have sued for breaking her jaw. Second dog had to go in for an emergency but she was happy, wagging her tail. Her breathing was not great (which is why we went to the emergency room, if possible we would have gone to our usual vet because we really do not like this place because of their track record) but whilst in consultation the vet constantly was taking about money, and half the time was obsessing over costs. We kept asking what are they going to do, what are the checks, can you please please give her some food - no answer, could not give us anything concrete, no plans, no emotions just kept talking about money. The Vet really seemed like they did not care about her at all. (The nurse at least was empathetic) When we were leaving she was happy, next day we get a call saying she is not going to make it. (And she didn't make it btw) Furthermore the receptionists were not inviting, they really seemed like they didn't care either. (One was twirling their hair whilst speaking to us which to me was not respectful at all, that to me shows they aren't really interested to give you their attention it's indication of a bad attitude) My advice go somewhere else, they are expensive and do not match the service for the price. Just for context Draining fluid at another vet was 150-200 (and they genuinely cared about my dog as well) they charge 700 here so you can make your decisions based on what I've shared. It's your choice, but my advice would be to go elsewhere.

Brilliant friendly staff!! Our nurse, Chloe, was lovely, understanding and very friendly. Our pup, who has never been away from me was happy to go with her when she needed a split nail removed. All staff made such a fuss of my girl who can be anxious at the vets. Can't recomend this vets highly enough! Thank you so much for looking after my girl, she's chilling on the couch in recovery getting spoilt xx

Scammers and liers. There's a reason they're one of the lowest rated surgeries in East London. Rather go to The Hackney Vets! I was told I'd get updates and be able to call anytime for an update. The receptionist kept saying "this is the information I've been given" refusing to let me speak to a vet or being able to tell me when a manager comes on duty. They have all my insurance details so are being paid a premium already for the WORST service. I decided to go pick up my pet as I wasn't receiving the updates I was promised. After having to wait an hour I was told again, we cant give you an update. DO NOT USE. Unless you like the idea of being lied and your time being wasted. Also, for any community manager that replies to this, I've already emailed with feedback, so there's no need to supply your boiler plate "send feedback to this email".
