I recently purchased a new pergola kit from tojagrid, the slanted roof waterproof kit. It arrived in 5 separate packages. One box was wrapped completely with packing tape, although the metal fixtures were in place, they had no cardboard packing and the bag of screws were missing. Also, there was no instruction sheet in any of the boxes. Despite this, I’m sure the pergola will build up as easily as my first one.

Hi there I previously purchased the corner units at my regular timber retailer and I do love the stuff but some corners were 6” openings and some are 5.5” openings so I had to shave my 6x6 posts to get into the 5.5” spots. Kind of a pain in the butt but I still love the stuff it looks very nice up!

Bought the 4×4 double kit, it's great however it came quite short of fasteners and screw caps. Almost 300 screws short, I'll have to buy them or the company can send them to me... I hope.

I purchased the waterproof wing pergola. The purchase and delivery were seamless and I was impressed by the customer service. We used treated 4X4's for the structure and the pergola itself went up very easily. I found it more convenient to put up the posts and then secure them with a tripod brace before putting in the cross beams. The Toja Grid braces are very solid and there was little wiggle in the finished pergola. I was disappointed with the waterproof wing as it leaked along the seam. When I raised this issue with Toja Grid, they provided great customer service and accepted the return of the entire package. I would recommend Toja Grid for a shade structure but am not convinced that the waterproof cover is effective. Overall, Toja Grid have great products and wonderful customer service. Thank you especially to MIchaela and Shannon in Customer service.

The Toja Grid brackets are fairly sturdy. They look good as well. They did say that only certain wood will fit in the brackets. I used pressure treated lumber. I used a planer and sander to ensure the ends fit. Finished cedar 4”x4” would have been easier, but harder to find above 10’ lengths. Everything was stained before assembly. I think they recommend not going over 12’ lengths. I agree with that, the pergola would be less stable. My pergola is 11’x10’ and 8’ high with the angled supports and moves a little bit even with the bracing. The only knock I have is some of the internal weld are sketchy, poor quality. The welds fell out. I rewelded them, but for the price point, I shouldn’t have to. All in all, I’d do it again. I have some more work to do, but the basic pergola is up.

This one was a replacement for our last one that got ripped and ruined during a high wind last summer but we are looking forward to enjoying days under our canopy again this summer. We have not opened and installed it yet but plan to this weekend and hope no winds ruin this one

Brackets were great. The provided screws were not so great. Most would strip when attempted to use. This happened after I used pre-drilled holes to help. I ended up buying different screws to avoid this.
