Product : A , could not be happier with my new pergola Customer service : A , they answer quickly and efficiently when there is an issue Math ability of warehouse staff : D-, I ordered 3 of the same item, received only one, emailed customer service; they said they would send me the 2 missing units, but I received only one. I had to contact customer service again and only then did I receive a full, complete order, which delayed my plans significantly. Still, I am very pleased with my overall experience, which is a testament to how awesome Toja is. My only recommendation for improvement is to teach warehouse staff about fractions (0.75, 0.5).

Really great product over all but pricy and not quite as easy to use as they make it look. We used the brackets that receive 6x6’s to make an octagon pergola swing around our fire pit. I read all the instructions and tips online and they recommended to be sure to select the correct sized 6x6 because apparently certain cuts of a 6x6’s are slightly different sizes thickness wise which I was not aware of. I got the only pressure treated 6x6’s available at our local Home Depot and did measure them before purchasing. They were all 5.5 inches thick just as the brackets called for. Only about half of the dozen pieces of lumbar we purchased fit the brackets. We even made sure to let the lumbar sit in our garage and dry completely for several days to see if that would help since wet lumbar can expand. We couldn’t even get some of the wood to fit after hammering the ends with a sledge hammer. This was so frustrating and resulted in a bent bracket. I finally went out and bought a planner which I used to shave the width of the 6x6’s down a bit at each end to allow the boards to slide into the brackets like butter. This worked really well especially since it’s not easy working above your head with a heavy 8ft 6x6 in hand. I feel like manufacturing the bracket’s openings just a little larger to allow the wood to fit better would be ideal. I used extra screws to ensure everything stays in place nicely since the boards fit less tight into the brackets. At the price point of this project I was disappointed to have had to purchase more screws separately. If I were doing it again I’d start with the planner and forget the sledge hammer. This knowledge would make a second run of the project much easier and faster. All in all I am incredibly pleased with the finished project but I was not pleased when struggling to get the boards to fit into the brackets. I also think the price of these is quite high for what they are however, it eliminated having to cut boards at various angles that would need to be determined. The black brackets also look great against the wood. I love the rustic industrial look. I would recommend the product but I’d love to see a slightly wider bracket opening which is the only reason I’m not giving 5 stars.

We are pleased overall with our shade sail top. It is well constructed and durable material. Unfortunately the blue colour we picked looks like blue tarp. The straps wont stay tight in the clips.

The product is great. The marketing and "sale end date" was somewhat obscured leading to me missing the discount but the product is very good. With 6x6 it fails to be a DIY especially if you do not purchase perfectly straight, plum, level, untwisted boards(which probably do not exist.) we built a 12x24 double with 2' o.c. rafters and it is very attractive.

While this is a GREAT product the support systems is seriously lacking. I waited for weeks for replies to 2 different email inquiries for information on installing the sail on my own, but received no reply. There are no instructions in the box that you would need if you are using it on your own frame. I needed to know if the 10' by 10' frame was inside or outside diameter and the measurements for the positioning of the inside brackets. I managed to figure it out on my own but they could have made my job easier.

We built a Toja Grid Hexagonal Kit for 6x6 Posts last weekend. Pros - The pieces arrived fast, were packed well and seem sturdy - ish (except the post base ground anchors) -Assembly went fairly quickly once we shaved down all our 6x6 pressure treated posts using an automatic planer for wood, but that definitely took extra time. -Actual pergola looks GORGEOUS now that it's done, and we're confident that because we spent the extra $$ to do it as a 6x6 it *should* last longer than the cheap pre-fab all metal pergola kits you can buy from the hardward store. Cons - -We were shorted a rafter kit and had to push back full installation until they arrived. -The Post Base Ground Anchors are cumbersome and very tricky to use. Because they ship flat, and then have to be slid together to form the "x" structure, they're quite flimsy, and don't really attach very well to the post base when trying to sledgehammer a 6x6 into the ground. Rather than ship them as a flat pack, we wished they'd been welded together like your standard post base stakes for fence building (that can be picked up at a local hardware store). This flimsy base definitely worries us as it's the foundation for a fairly large structure but I digress. -we loved the "choose your own adventure- style of purchasing the parts you need to build the pergola of your choice, however, the Hex kit came with little to no instructions available on Toja Grid's website, which meant we were woefully unprepared when it came to actually lifting and assembling the cross beams on each side. We ended it up getting it done with three people, three ladders, a tractor jack and a LOT of know how, but having an installation video (or two!) or written instructions available on purchase would've really prevented a lot of head scratching and frustration. -Because the kit didn't come with any installation videos or tips that actually pertained to this particular style, we inadvertantly installed our pergola with the bottom (ground) post brackets with the pre drilled holes facing outwards on some of the posts (we were fighting with the post base anchors so much to keep them together and keep them from breaking/bending/twisting as we drove the 6x6 upright posts into the ground, that we didn't notice the pre drilled holes until it was too late) so now we cannot use any of the additional Toja grid accessories/screens as the holes are inaccessible. -there's no shades or screening available for the Hex kit anyways, so I guess it's not so bad that we can't use the ground post holes to attach side screens since they don't exist yet. All in all - it's a good product - it just needs better instruction manuals and videos for ALL the products, not just the square pergola or pergola hammock kits (which are currently the only video/manuals available online)

The Toja arrived promptly and in good condition. Went together well. I Did not like the cheap screws that were included so I used different ones.

Excellent products. We built their pergola and the muskoka slim large sofa. Only complaint is there was no instructions in the box or online on the wood material required to build it. Had to look at pictures online to see how many beams were needed and also length. Toja please put this info on your website so it is easy to find.
