My visit to Goddard's was excellent. Dr Amy and staff were thorough, informative, caring and accomodating. I didn't feel rushed in deciding on my pets needs. I would recommend Goddard's to everyone. Thank you.

Most of the staff are so exceptionally rude, it actually blows my mind. They could not accept that they didn’t tell me to fast my cat for 12 hours instead 2 people of staff started cornering me DURING MY CONVERSATION WITH THE VET to assert they are right and I am wrong. These two women came into the vets room literally only to tell me that they informed me on the phone to keep my cat “starved” (shocking that this is the level of professionalism while giving medical advice- in cases where advice is even actually given). Not to mention this ALL happened while I was in the middle of an examination for my sick cat. Even the vet was trying to tell these two ladies that it’s fine, it doesn’t matter as the cat is sick and the procedure won’t go ahead today but they kept at it. Since the appointment cost me £300 approx, I will be raising a formal complaint. I will also be complaining about the time they didn’t let me come pick up flea medication which resulted in my cat picking up fleas. Edit - I have just now noted in some other reviews that there is a racist staff member (not sure if I encountered the same lady as I didn’t note any names) - so I would like to mention that I was genuinely questioning if they would have ever barged in to a clinical examination for a pet whose owner wasn’t so obviously from an ethnic minority.

I'm really impressed. So friendly and professional staff. Almost everyone is under pressure when visiting vet, but staff was so friendly and competent, that make me feel in safe hands with my golden retriever girl Raya. I want to thank Dr Judy-Ann Thomas for her understanding and professionalism.

Edit: Based on some other reviews, I am now convinced that the vet, Stefania Vogdanou, is racist and deliberately treated me poorly than other people because I am an ethinic minority. Shameful. Recently moved to the area so took my cat for a routine shot - they insisted on seeing the details of his first vaccination round so I ensured that I had all the details. My cat got stressed out at the vet as it was new for him. The vet was really unfriendly, saying that the details I'd brought didn't make sense to her. I said these are standard ones that have been sent and contain the name of the drug and the brand - what more is needed? No clear answer. Then, my cat was stressed out and she was extremely rude to me as if it's my fault or within my control - didn't seem to offer any empathy that this is a normal response when cats are afraid. She was very blunt in saying she would not risk anyone seeing him. I agree with her actions but couldn't stand her tone. She didn't even say goodbye when we left. I was left feeling as if I'd done something wrong. Paid quickly and left. Took my cat recently to a different vet for an emergency and he acted the same but they were far nicer, understanding, kind to him and me and this was despite being a walk-in without calling, 9 pm on a Saturday. Silver linings, have found an excellent new vet and will never return to these guys again. One star just because I can't give lower - the nurse was lovely but the vet was completely horrible. Will never return.

We have used Goddard Vets West Ham on for the last few years, and have usually had a positive experience. However on our last visit this was very different. We were taking our cat for an annual check up, and my partner was immediately met with a rude receptionist (Agnes, I believe) who said we were 2 months early (it is actually only 1 month early) and there really was no point us bringing our cat in now, and asked why we scheduled it. Even if it is legitimate to ask, the manner in which it was approached was completely unfriendly. After passing that hurdle my partner began the appointment with Stefania Vogdanou. She was standoffish, curt, and impatient. Upon opening the carrier, the cat jumped out and ran to the shelves. Stefania became annoyed, asked why she wasn't warned that the cat would do that, and said she now has been scratched because of it. She told me partner that she ought to keep hold of her and keep control. In my view as a vet you would expect that a scared cat might try to run away, and should probably be prepared for that and not get annoyed at the owner? The most peculiar aspect however is how the demeanour changed entirely when I joined the appointment after a couple of minutes (I had been parking the car). My partner is an ethnic minority, and I (a white man) seemed to receive an entirely more courteous and respectful tone from both the receptionist and the vet herself. Despite the cat continuing to be difficult, I received no rudeness or accusations of not being in control. In the absence of any other reason, I can only assume my partner received different treatment on the basis of her race. I hope that is not the case, but upon reading other reviews of individuals who have had a similar experience I think it likely is. Suffice to say we will use a different vet going forward. A shame as others in the practice have always been wonderful.

Fantastic service. We took our cat in for a check-up and regrettably she very quickly turned into a little monster. The vet and nurse were fantastic, absolutely fantastic when it came to looking after little Luna. Very calm and handled the situation very professionally while also being reassuring. Thank you x

Amazing, thank you! My cat was treated by Dr Guo who was very gentle with her and attentive. This is my first pet that has ever had fleas and she went the extra mile to hand-write careful steps to take at home, in addition to the de-flea and de-worm treatment carried out at the appointment. Would definitely recommend to others!
