Went in with my son with a significant down payment for a used truck. After negotiations we were told that since my son was a "first time buyer" that the bank wanted "more skin in the game" (more $) from him and the bank would be satisfied and approve the loan...my son agreed to put more cash down, the exact amount the finance manager mentioned then....no, no deal. We wasted several hours and they lied to us, I'm sure they thought my son wouldn't have more $ to give, but he did and then they couldn't hold up their end. Poor , poor, poor experience and deceitful tactics!
