Taking the stress out of buying a used motorcycle.
I have no connection with Youles.
I've been riding riding bikes for more years than I care to admit and when an incurable tapping noise appeared on my present bike, the bad tasting memories of previous dealer purchased used bikes came bubbling up from the depths of my memories.
With deep trepidation, the search for a new bike, a VFR800 vtec 2014 began. After a few months of internet searches, and by now, what had become an alarming rattle, I came across the Youles site with a prime candidate ,2016 reg ,panniers, givi top box rack, black ,low enough miles ,service history etc,but best of all 10% cheaper than the rest of the web.As their, easy to use web site, allowed you to reserve a bike with a refundable deposit I thought, what do I have to lose? So following a few phone calls and armed with my trusty Arai ,I set forth on my blind date.
Upon arrival I found the bike parked in the showroom and ignoring the salt damage to the valve cover ,it didn't in any way embarrass the brand new bikes it was parked next to.The next 10 seconds went something like this
BUY IT screamed my unmentionables
Hold on, said my debit card ,why is it so cheap??
BUY IT they screamed even louder
OK I said
So armed with a coffee delivered by attentive staff, I waited for Dave Eckersall (thanks mate) to finish with another customer.
BUY IT,BUY IT ,BUY IT they continued to scream.
With Dave now free we sat down to do the paper work and straight off he explained that the rear tyre was MOT legal but not up to Youles standard so £100 was knocked off the price ,BONUS! Then he pointed out the service team also fitted a new battery ,DOUBLE BONUS, as well as new front pads TRIPLE BONUS.Again these were MOT legal, but, and this is the important part, Youles sub-standard. I could give a list of all the other plus points the bike and Youles received but I will run out space .I live 250 miles away from the Blackburn branch where I bought the bike and at no time do I regret the decision to make the journey.
To sum this up if you are thinking of buying used I would strongly recommend Youles . Many a cynic ,myself included, will always look for the "where's the catch" aspect of a purchase like this but in this case I couldn't,and still can't,find one.So if they have what you are looking for get in contact and enjoy the ride.
