Such an incredible experience traveling around Iceland in the Happy Camper vans. I wouldn’t do it any other way! The staff was great and absolutely no issues with the vehicles. Surprisingly easy to navigate and explore the country with a van!

We had a great experience with Happy Campers. The check-in process went very smooth and Eliška was very helpful and friendly during this whole process. Bartosz showed us everything about the camper and how to use it and did a great job explaining in detail. Marina checked us back in at the end of the trip and was very kind and efficient.

What an amazing trip we had! Big shoutout to Munch for doing an excellent job of explaining everything we needed to know about the camper, single-lane bridges, “plowing through the North”, winding roads to avoid, and the “black handle.” We left HCs feeling quite confident. Another big shoutout goes to Arber for making our drop off so easy and getting us safely to our Airbnb. Lastly, thank you to Eliska, who came out to the van and told us we didn’t need to rush cleaning it out and that the shuttle wasn’t leaving in 5 minutes! She definitely lowered our stress levels in that moment.
As far as tips go, only take chairs if you truly believe you’ll use them. Ours stayed under the table the entire trip mostly due to weather. Grab an extra towel to use as a rug. Using public transportation in Reykjavik worked extremely well going to and from the campsite. Check the direction of the wind before setting up to use the stove to cook outside. Try to find a box at the grocery store to hold food. Worked much better than individual bags. What a beautiful time we had!

I took my daughter on a ten day road trip around Iceland. Everything with our Happy Camper went perfectly. Marina checked us in quickly and got us on the road. The vehicle was clean, comfortable, and ran smoothly. After returning to the office on our last day, Ola checked us out smoothly and made sure we were happy with our trip. Happy Campers is a great company and would definitely use them again should we find ourselves back in Iceland.

We are indeed happy campers! From the first class and friendly service by Eliska and Bartosz to the well-equipped Happy 2 van we nicknamed Shrek, we had a great 6 days traveling around the West Fjords. Iceland roads are well-paved, and Shrek didn’t bat an eye at the gravel roads (no F roads, though). We loved the places we visited, and will return for more. Shrek was comfortable, cozy, and well-supplied. For us, the is the only way to see Iceland!

We rented a Happy 1 from Happy Campers for a 14-day Iceland ring road trip in June 2025. Sharing our experience & photos of the van to help other potential campers.
All our emails were answered very promptly before the trip. We had to rebook the van due to certain circumstances and the refund for the cancelled booking also arrived quickly.
We were picked up on time from the Airport by the Happy shuttle. A happy shoutout to Marina, who helped us check-in and get familiar with the basics of the Camper Van. She was quick, patient & answered all our queries. Even at check-out she was very diligent and also helped us catch the happy shuttle to Keflavik city.
We opted for the happiest bundle and picked out a sleeping bag, trekking poles, extra pillow, Bluetooth speaker, an inverter, extra driver, extra sauce pot, towels, clothesline and a phone holder. Each of these came very handy during our trip.
The Happy1 is really easy to drive. Perfect for a couple. Note that it only has reverse sensors and no reverse camera. The backdoor does not have good visibility and the rear view mirror at the center is almost useless. It did not bother us all that much though, as traffic was very less.

Amazing service & a great van! We went with the smaller option for our Southern Coast trip & had an amazing time. Seriously could not recommend this company enough - we spent over 10 days living out of their cheapest van and were comfortable, well-rested, & cooked almost all our meals in it. Staff were incredible & really friendly our entire stay as well.

Really great experience renting from Happy Campers! The customer service was great. They were very helpful when I was having booking issues with the website. And we got a shuttle ride to and from the airport which was awesome. We got one of the smaller vans. The van was small but functional and well thought out. Easy to drive and park. Next time I’d probably book a bigger van (my husband is 6’3” and we barely both fit in there!). But I’d highly recommend happy campers and would totally book with them again! The extra add ons were really helpful too (phone holder, internet box, guitar) and helped the trip go smoothly. Thanks for a great trip!

We spent 2 weeks in the Happy Camper 4x4 XL traveling clockwise around the country and had the most incredible time! If you have the time, we recommend driving around the Westfjords and spending a day or 2 on Heimaey in the Westman Islands, it's worth it. Happy Campers makes your travels simple and can provide everything you need. We enjoyed being off of the Ring Road in remote areas and there is no shortage of amazing campsites to choose from, the campsite map that Happy Campers provides on their website is a huge help. Bartosz met us at the airport and Dawid took care of us throughout the check-in process and went out of his way to take us to our accommodations the night before our flight back home from Keflavik. We even found out later that he was the one helping us on the phone when we got a flat tire in Vik. We can't recommend him and Happy Campers enough, we are wishing we were still back in our camper in this beautiful country.

Everyone in the office was super helpful. The van (Happy 2) was comfortable for 2 adults and easy to drive. The wifi worked all over the ring road and kept us connected to Google Maps. Most of the campgrounds in Iceland were so beautiful and staying in the camper made the adventure even better. This bucket list trip was perfect!

Happy Campers was the best “bang for the buck” as far as we are concerned. Not only was the staff helpful but all questions were answered and the van was in top shape! Along our travels we assisted a couple who rented from Lava and the tires were almost bald. Sad, but true. Jon is quick to respond to email and questions related to any aspect of the company. Although the tires were noisy on our van it was an amazing trip and we are so glad we chose Happy Campers and recommend them to all!

I had such a great experience with my Happy Campers van! I had been to Iceland in the winter as part of a group tour, but I wanted to explore more in the summer and stop to paint along the way. I researched several camper van options and Happy Campers felt like the best choice for me. I particularly appreciated their PDF handbook they sent out that was full of helpful information like the rules of Icelandic driving (two lane roundabouts and one lane bridges, oh my!) and everything you might need to know about your camper and/or camping in Iceland. I had to reach out to change a pick up location prior to my arrival and received a fast response. I even had a concern the morning of my pick up and Marina sent a quick response. Marina was a huge help and walked me through the features of the van prior to sending me on my way. They have free coffee in the lobby and a place where past campers can leave supplies or food they didn’t use. So you could even save a little more money on groceries. I got to see a different side of Iceland than I saw in the winter with my group tour and will use Happy Campers again when I do this trip again.

We did a week long rental of the Happy 1 (ended up being a Renault Kangoo) and it was the perfect size for a couple. The car was brand new and stocked with everything we needed — we had no issues whatsoever, and the return was without any surprise fees. Very friendly staff that picked us up from the airport for free and later even dropped us off at Blue Lagoon. Overall excellent service and would recommend to anyone

Happy Campers was nothing short of amazing. It was the reason we had the most amazing time in Iceland. We were able to drive the whole Ring Road in the 4 days that we were there, all thanks for our nifty camper that allowed us to find the nearest campsite, when we decided we needed to sleep for the night. Our camper came with everything we needed, making our packing list small! It was cozy, and fit my husband and I just fine! Dawid was hilarious - joked around with us, while explaining how everything worked. A tip would be to check the Happy Camper airport pick up time (so you don't sit at the airport worrying, like us, that you forgot to get picked up).Thankyou Happy Campers for allowing us to use your camper while exploring one of the prettiest places I've been to!

We loved our Happy Camper 2 trip around Iceland for a week. The van was well equipped and very comfortable. We really loved the freedom it gave us to work out our itinerary on the go.
