I couldn't speak highly enough of Happy Campers to give them justice.
The experience with them was excellent on every level. From getting the van, the explanation, a run down on thing to know, questions on the road and bringing back the camper, everything was spot on.
The camper itself (we've rented a Van1), even though it's the smaller one, you get use to it very fast and my wife and I love every aspect of it. The camper drove very well, the equipment provided was in very good shape and the interior was super well arranged to maximise the available space.
We haven't tried any other company, so we can't really compare but I would definitely recommend Happy Campers based on our experience.

We loved using Happy Campers on our trek around Iceland. We took the smallest one, camped 8 nights, and were comfortable and cozy. All the staff were helpful and professional and the vans equipped with everything we needed. We would definately use them again, when we come back!!

We had an awesome time in our Happy Camper! I wish I remembered the name of the guy who picked us up from the airport and took us to our hotel after. He was sooo friendly and helpful! Went through the map in detail offering suggestions for us along the way. Check in was fast and easy. We had no issues whatsoever with the van. I will definitely rent from Happy Campers again if I return. Thank you for such wonderful customer service.!

Solid company that I found well reviewed in my travel research. The customer service is very good, andt building they have is clean theand and organized. They will show you all you need to know about the vehicle and driving tips in Iceland in general. During our stay there was an issue with our campervans battery but the manager made up for it by responding quickly to my asking for a partial refund.

I rented a camper for a week of solo travel in mid September. It was perfect. Very comfortable and easy to drive, even on steep gravel roads. I cooked dinner every night, most other meals were cold, and it worked out great. The cooler was big enough, only went shopping once except for bread. Storage was fine, once I got my system down, I know where everything was and it all worked fine. Sleeping was more comfortable that I imagined it would be. I slept great every night. One or two nights it was a bit chilly but I rented a sleeping bag and between that and the heater it was fine.
The office staff were great the whole time. I had to make a few changes and they were very helpful through email and in the office. I would definitely use them again.

Very personable staff, well-set up camper (we rented a Happy 1), clean and comfortable, good support by email while on the road. We had a great time and felt that the camper was a good fit for our needs. A few tiny things: we were missing the kitchen knife which was a bit of a trial.; the power source for the fridge wiggled free from time to time so we had to keep an eye on it; the back curtains didn't meet or close very well; but these detail s are small compared to the efficiency and comfort overall. We were extremely happy with our choice of this company.

I highly recommend Happy Campers; my experience with this company was excellent. My mom and I rented a Happy 1 from them in September and found it to be well set up and great to drive. The staff were all friendly and helpful, especially Hakur, who patiently answered all my questions via email before and after I arrived. There was no trouble with check in or check out, the only thing I would advise is taking a minute to go through the bedding and kitchen kit before you leave the lot and comparing it to the list of supplied items, as we were missing the kitchen knife and would have liked to have it for our trip. Great service, great camper, and a wonderful way to experience Iceland!

Happy Campers rock! Couldn't be happier with our experience with them: from start to finish it was excellent. We chose Happy Camper 1: it had heat, running water and a refrigerator. Wifi, gravel protection and camp chairs were all available to be rented from them. The Ring Road was perfect in our Happy Camper 1, truly was our home away from home. Thank you Happy Campers!!!

We really enjoyed the Volkswagen Transporter 4x4 we rented from Happy Campers for our honeymoon trip in Iceland. The van's design was compact, functional, and handled well in the wind/rain/terrain we experienced on the road. Heating the van at night was straightforward, and powering our electronics along the way was a cinch. The vehicle's solar setup worked reliably, and gave us peace of mind that the onboard fridge/heater would not fail during our Icelandic adventure. Herdís and Jón were super helpful during the planning stages of our trip, and followed through when we arrived on our first day in Iceland. Would definitely recommend Happy Campers to anyone looking to explore Iceland's beautiful countryside.

Great experience, both checking out and checking in the camper. We rented a HC 3 and loved it! Would highly recommend Happy Camper, and would definitely rent again. Also found their Facebook community very helpful with travel tips, camp site reviews, packing suggestions, etc.

Absolutely the best way to see this beautiful country!!! Easy pick up, driving and drop off. The camper has everything you need. We brought a few things of our own to make it feel like home. Communication is top notch, gas economy is fabulous!!!

Had a wonderful experience in Iceland with our Happy Camper 4x4. The car was clean, well-equipped, and large enough to cook dinners inside, bring chairs inside to sit, and sleep comfortably. The heater works very well and when used for an hour before bed, we were warm throughout the night. We rented the GPS for navigation, although we never used it because we opted for the Wifi, which worked very well throughout nearly the entire country. We ran into a few unforeseen issues while traveling on an F-road, but Happy Campers was incredibly responsive and it proved very useful that they track the vehicle and know your exact location at any time. When we returned the car, we were fully refunded for out of pocket costs that we incurred when we had car troubles in the highlands. They just wanted to ensure our trip wasn't negatively impacted, which we ensured them it wasn't. Only added to the great adventure! Would highly recommend Happy Campers to anyone and everyone traveling to Iceland. This is the best way to see the country.

Happy Campers were a great value all things considered. Their customer service was great and they were very friendly. John in particular was extremely helpful. The van we rented was a little small but it's all part of the experience.

Very prompt and helpful with pre-trip questions. Booking and pick up experience were very good, no problems, no complaints. The vans were as described and we had no mechanical problem. Wifi worked in car. Recommend the sleeping bags even in the summer. I would personally liked to have more paddings on bed for my back. Overall, very satisfied with Happy Campers family (shout out to Elizabeth and Haukur!)

My wife and I had an excellent experience. The shuttle arrived on time and it's just a short drive to get your van. We had the Happy 2 and would highly recommend this model over the smallest one as we loved the space it provided. We will definitely recommend this company to anyone wishing to camp in Iceland!

We spent 7 days in a happy camper and had an amazing time! Iceland is a beautiful country and I can think of no better way to see it than in a camper van. It was comfortable to sleep in even though my husband is 6’4”. It was so convenient to have a bed and kitchen when we wanted to stop and take a rest, or have a picnic. The Happy Camper allowed us to cover way more ground without having to back-track to a hotel or Airbnb.
This was my first trip to Iceland and Happy Campers made it very easy for us to pack minimally and get on the road. Some differentiators we really appreciated were the introductory traffic/driving lesson, shuttle to and from the airport, solar panel for battery charge, gas discounts at two different chains, included bedding, and the shareable food pantry. This trip was amazing and when we visit Iceland again I would not hesitate to book a Happy Camper!

They picked us up in the morning after our arrival at time agreed and from that moment till we returned the van everything was super smoothy. Van was OK, people in the office were super nice and helpful and during our trip they replied to our doubts when we contacted them.
