1000% RECOMMEND!!!
Our first trip to Iceland (May 20-28, 2023) for our family of four adults was AMAZING not just because of Iceland's beauty but Happy Campers was an incredibly PERFECT choice for our 8 day home-away-from-home along the South of Iceland.
CAMPERVAN: we rented the 4x4 XL with the Happiest Bundle (go big or go home right? :P) not knowing what the transitional weather was going to be like as well as the roads. It was spacious, excellently maintained, clean and everything was thought out! Tire spikes not needed as the Ring Road sections we were in were well maintained and clear last week. Front driver and passenger seats were extremely comfortable and roomy, middle console fold-down feature was so useful to tuck our phones, maps and guides under. Beds were easy to convert quickly and plenty of comforters, blankets, sleeping bags to keep you warm at night not that we fully needed it because the van comes with a heater that you could run overnight and recharges during the day. Kitchen had good size sink, two burners, several extra gas cans, large cooler/fridge, and efficient storage space. We were not lacking in storage. Windows and large side mirrors enabled us to navigate and control the large van easily in all areas of camps and sights. All the vans looked excellently maintained and new! HC has a tablet with mounting bracket for navigation but also chock full of information about sights along your route. Everything provided was convenient and in excellent working condition. We got the inverter as well to charge our extra devices. No electrical hook up needed or emptying of liquid waste. Plenty of head room to stand up. In-cup coffee press mugs were Godsend! Keyfob had discount tags attached for gas along the way.
STAFF: kudos to all staff for taking GREAT care of us. They were all friendly, helpful, patient (there was a delay in getting our van) and overall some of the nicest people we've met. Special THANK YOU to Ingrid for working so hard to get our van at pick-up. You are an asset to the company :).
Even though this is our first camper van journey to Iceland, it will not be our last and guaranteed, HAPPY CAMPERS is our recommended choice. You can't miss their bright green building for drop off!

Excellent experience with the camper van. I did not have issue during the whole ring road trip. The only slight complain is the charger of the tablet which was magnetic and keeps falling off. But I solved the issue by using my own that worked well with the tablet.
Free airport pick up and drop off was hassle free. Everything went smoothly with checking in and out. I also like the bright red color of the van to let other drivers know that I am a visitor and be patient with my driving on this beautiful island. Thank you Happy Campers. I was definitely a happy camper during my trip.

My first experience staying in a camper van, and I was shocked that so many great amenities could be crammed into such a small space. We had everything we needed, even a great wifi connection which is a must if you go to Iceland. It was a very cozy and warm van, perfect for a wild experience in full winter in Iceland. The customer service was great, always available. I made some of the best memories of my life and can’t wait to make many more with the next one!

We had the best time during our winter road trip in Iceland with Happy Campers. We slept in the van for 2 weeks and even though ours wasn't a 4x4 van and we got some stormy days with crazy Icelandic winds, we were able to drive without any issue and slept like babies. We even got an iPad which included unlimited internet data throughout our entire trip. The entire HC team is always ready to help. Highly recommended if you're looking to rent a van in Iceland.

I had a great experience with my happy camper van. I originally reserved a small van then decided to change to a larger van about a month before my trip and the Happy Camper team was able to find a van for me (Benjamin) When I landed and was picked up at the airport by the Happy Campers staff (Inga) explained everything about the camper and showed me how everything works as well as different ways to contact them if I had any problems during my trip. The van held up very well for the entire trip, I had no issues.

Ich war sehr zufrieden mit Happycampers. Sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter, cooler Van und unkomplizierter Ablauf. Wenn man den Van in Empfang nimmt, kann man sich im Gebäude mit Lebensmitteln eindecken, die andere Reisende zurückgelassen haben. Salz, Nudeln, Kaffee,.... für mich war es das erste mal Camping und dann auch noch alleine. Es war super unkompliziert und habe mich jederzeit sicher gefühlt.
Wird nicht das letzte mal gewesen sein.
Zurück an den Flughafen ging es für mich jedoch mit dem Taxi, da mein Flug schon sehr früh zurück ging.

Camper van was new, well equipped, and drove well. Provided tablet worked well as a WiFi hotspot and 95% of the time gave good directions. Happy Campers was easy to work with and rectified any issues in a satisfactory manner. If I rented a camper van in Iceland again I would likely go with Happy Campers again.

We had an excellent experience with this company. We did have a little bit of a rough start with our GPS tablet because the one we had was for our van and we didn't get the towels that were part of our package. We were miles away by the time we realized about the towels and it wasn't that big of a deal. The van was great, the staff was very helpful with the tablet as well as some questions we had while we were on the road. We would camp with this company again for sure!

The service we received from Happy Campers was top notch, right from our arrival, to our departure! We got to experience Iceland how WE wanted to, and on OUR timeline. With the flexibility of being able to spend the night where we wanted to, and see as many beautiful views as we possibly could, I would strongly recommend happy campers to anyone looking to venture across Iceland!

16 days wonderful Happy Campers trip! Even with -7 °C and 8 bft wind, still warm all night long. 2 little issues with the camper were easy and quickly solved. Highly recommended!

We had the best time and Happy Campers could not have been better at every step of the way. The bed/bedding was very comfortable and we were provided plenty of blankets to stay warm—our trip was late April and it was cold outside at night. Never had a problem sleeping.
My wife and I loved our Happy 3 camper, it was a smooth ride and well outfitted. Our camp stove was great and we made lots of nice meals.
Perhaps the best feature they provide is the mobil WiFi. I think it’s called the Happy App. We were shocked to find we still had fast internet in the most remote parts of the county. It was a really really nice feature.
It was an amazing trip and if you’re considering booking with Happy Campers the answer is yes! 1000/10

Great experience from start to finish, shuttle from our accommodation was on time, paper work went quick. Campervan (Happy 1 EX) was well prepared for a trip, very practical and heater was easily doing it's job on coldest days. Even when we had problems Bartosz managed to help us quickly. I highly recommend!

We had a nice Time in our Happy Campers in Iceland in April. The introduction was extensive and understandable. The Camper was well equiped with all things we needed during our 17 Days Holiday.
If we come back for Iceland Camping, we‘ll also choose Happy Campers!

I just returned from a 6 day April trip I rented the Happy 1 Auto for. Airport pickup and dropoff were seamless, the camper had everything I needed, the rental office staff explained absolutely everything you need to know when picking up, and I was very happy with the experience. The Happy 1 is definitely best for a solo traveler, although there's enough space to drive/sit/sleep for two if you don't mind being VERY close together at all times. It's a small minivan, which makes it incredibly easy to drive and park.

Great company. They are super friendly and all speak very good english. There is a nice waiting area, with a "free" shop where you can grab the first things that for you need for your trip. Also the delivery of the car went super fast and they drops us of at our last residence

Renting a camper was a wonderful experience. The staff, Liliana in particular, were accommodating and thorough in the preparations for our trip. They took the time to explain the roadways and campsites and how to navigate around the Island. This was very useful. When I noticed things that were not up to par on the vehicle, they fixed things. The staff did a great job and were kind. They went out of their way to ask if there was anything else I needed. Unfortunately the whole checkout process did take 3 hours due to door hinge damage that the vehicle had from the previous renters not being attentive to the winds. That was no fault of the workers there however. They strove to do their best to get us on our way safely. I would rent from Happy campers again.

Eric and his team really impressed me with their efficient and personal service. The entire process from initial enquiry to returning the van was seamless. The van itself was exactly what I needed for my trip to Afrikaburn - it contained everything I needed and handled the dirt road very well. I will definitely be using Happy Campers in the future!
