Happy Campers provided fantastic first class service and gave me and my partner the opportunity to explore the beautiful landscape of Iceland. There was food available to us at the office which was left by previous campers as well as hot beverages prepared on site with toilet and washroom. You can guarantee that you'll be warm in the camper with their great heating system as well as blankets, duvets and sleeping bags available at the office :)
I have always recommended Happy Campers to friends and family and hope to one day explore the island once again using Happy Campers.

Great van rental service. Easy and fast pickup, and return.
For us travelling with a van to see all of Iceland was the must thing to do. We went through the ring road of Iceland with our small van without any issues on the road.
Our heater/spare battery of the car was malfunctioning half way of the rental time period, which caused us some trouble and cold nights, but the HC customer service was good and quick to assist us. But what we heard from other HappyCamper Van's, others didnt have any issues. However bring warm clothes with you for winter travels. Also the sleeping bags were nice and clean (as we were wondering if we should bring our own)
Definitely recommended! Lovely van, we already miss it. And Iceland.

Our experience with Happy Campers was AWESOME! Haukur made our trip the best it could be, helping us over 5 months prior by answering my endless number of questions. Haukur was also super helpful in coordinating repairs when our heater stopped working.
I am already planning a return trip and will definitely choose Happy Campers again!

Because of Happy Campers, our trip around Iceland couldn't be better! The camper van was very wel equipped with all the necesary materials. During winter, the van is also well-heated with an extra heater, so if you get cold easily (like me), you will be fine! The service was very friendly and the information they gave us was very clear. I would definitely recommend Happy Campers to everyone who is looking for an easy-to-ride en comfortable camper van!

Very easy going company. We didn't realize we had to bring a credit card but luckily we found a solution with Happy Campers and then we could take off. The vans have everything you need and are well equipped. All in all it was a great trip and we will definitely book again!
Also, Tristan and the guy who I forgot the name off (big blond guy, tattoos on his hands and forearms, working there for about 2 years, he showed us the van) were really helpful!!

I am glad we chose Happy Campers for our rental in Iceland. We went in November 2019 which gave use a discounted hire rate, making our holiday in Iceland as cheap as they come! They were reliable and friendly in their communications. We hired the van Happy 2 for myself and my girlfriend for 5 days. The van was a simple camper conversion but with everything you need including a very effective heater (we were camped in -8 degrees on some nights and in snow!) excellent fridge and even a sink with running water. Tristan from Happy Campers was very friendly and laid back. He did a good job of picking us up at the airport, offering us friendly advice and reassuring us by making a detailed examination of the vehicles condition prior to rental. We took out the gravel insurance as an extra which I would recommend. We had the BEST 5 days in Iceland. So much so we can't wait to return next year, hire the VW 4x4 with Happy Campers and explore the highlands! Thanks Tristan and the team. We are VERY Happy Campers

We had an absolutely amazing trip in our Happy Camper 2!!! Upon arrival to the facility, I was greeted by (the fella in the photo holding the Happy Camper sign). He explained everything in detail about the rental, and gave me a very informative walk through of how to operate everything which was wonderful! The Winter Campsite map was great, and he also spent additional time with me as I explained our projected route, telling me some of the must see places along our route. He was knowledgeable and helpful regardless of the questions I had. They have put a lot of time and effort into equipping the vans with any and everything you might use. Everything you need is right there in that camper, you just need to know where you are headed and they will gladly help you make the most of your time in Iceland. Absolutely amazing group of folks, cant say enough how happy we were with every aspect of our trip!! I highly recommend Happy Campers, and think that there is no other way to truly experience that beautiful country. Cheers!!

Happy Campers was an awesome company to rent a van from for a 10 day trip around the island (we did the first and last night in an Airbnb - wise decision!) in September. It's a family run company that designs their own vans for ultimate road comfort. Cheap on fuel and doesn’t feel claustrophobic for two adult females. They offered great customer service and helped us a ton. The heater didn't work well for a few nights and they refunded us part of the expense which was very nice.

These guys are great! :) They will help you with anything you need. The van was super cool, comfortable, we cooked our meals there and at night don't worry the van had a heating system. :) You definitely should book with them, it is the best way to see Iceland.

I had an extraordinary experience with Happy Campers Iceland! My girlfriend and I rented the Happy 1 Automatic from October 5th-12th, 2019, traveled the Ring Road in 7 days and we had wonderful time! Before we decided to rent from Happy Campers I extensively read up on many other camper van rental companies but we ultimately decided to go with Happy Campers (mostly due to their many 5-star reviews) and we definitely made the right decision. When we finally picked up the camper van at Happy Campers we were greeted by Flosi who gave us a very thorough explanation about everything we needed to know, answered all of our questions in detail, eased our stress and all concerns we had (because we are from Thailand, driving on the other side of the road, having no experience driving in Icelandic weather conditions, etc.), finishing off with a tour of the camper van itself and showing us all of the things inside the camper van. So thank you very much for that, Flosi! We properly followed instructions on how to manage the heaters and listened carefully on how they affect the car batteries, since we did not want to have any problems with that on the road and we did not. We did, however, encounter two different groups who also did a road trip with camper vans not from Happy Campers whose batteries died. They did not have jumper cables either. But since Happy Campers equipped us with a full equipment set, which included jumper cables as well, we got to help those two groups. So it was either the quality of the battery which was better, or the fact that we received proper instructions on how to handle the batteries, Happy Campers gets a win over the other two camper van rental companies in that aspect. That just as an example. We basically had a great time and were very happy we chose Happy Campers. Highly recommended if you want to do a camper van road trip in Iceland! Wish to go again someday!

I had such a great experience with happy campervan from start to finish! They were right on time picking us up from airport and quick getting us back to their headquarters to check us in and debrief us on our van. Everyone was friendly and informative throughout the registration process. The van we got was fairly new and really clean. The gps we chose to rent didn’t work right once we were on the road, but after we return the van they refunded it. It was fine though because our google maps and paper map we bought got us everywhere we needed easily. Otherwise all the amentities in the van worked great (WiFi, Heater, fridge, propane stove, reading lights in back). The fold out bed was cozy enough and the bedding provided was super cozy (2 down comforters and sleeping bags - part of winter season package). We did run in to an issue with the mechanics of the van while driving that require us calling the help line. They answered right away and jumped right in to helping us. Located us with our help and the help of gps tracker in van. Told us where the nearest mechanic garage was and gave directions for what we needed to do. Luckily our van was still able to run so we could drive it. We were disappointed that the delay would set us behind on getting to our destination in the morning, but the guy helping us (don’t know name) was able to talk mechanic in to meeting us at garage during off hours!!! We were in/out in no time. We were a little nervous driving out van after that, but it was our last two days and it got us where needed to go. Super long review, but soooo much to say!!! We had a blast with our van, it had everything we needed to feel like home for 8 days! Plus (bonus) when we drove to the capitol for a day it was small to park right in the city center with no problem!!!

Great company, very friendly. They took a lot of time to explain the van to me, and to go over a map of the country with me and show me things. The camper van was perfect for my needs. It came with enough bedding that I was warm without the heater, even when the temp dropped close to freezing. I spent 9 nights traveling beautiful Iceland in my Happy Camper, and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

If you want to visit Iceland, this is the way to do it. Don't get tied with hotel check-ins and outs. Just get on a camper van and drive. Happy Campers is an excellent company, really helpful and genuine. Special thanks to Haukur, for helping me with the Happy Challenge. We'll definitely be back!

We love our Happy Camper van! It was perfect! We got to have experiences that wouldn't have happened in a hotel and we were able to have a convenient and comfy camping experience (we didn't want to primitive camp). We rented the Auto 1 for two us for a week. The size was perfect, we stayed warm, the bed was comfy (we are in our mid to late 30s and have back stuff...I was worried about the bed but it was good), the little kitchen area worked well, wifi was helpful, etc. They provided amazing customer service before, during and after our trip. There are a lot of other companies but after seeing them and talking to others at campsites, I am so glad we chose Happy Campers! Plus you get to wave at all the other Happy Campers driving around. I whole heartedly recommend this company.

This was my first time in Iceland. I had an amazing time and im very pleased with this company. During all my interactions with them, they always made things easier for me, and that was very helpful since i was travelling alone. The atmosphere in the office was very relaxed, everyone was very kind and helpful everytime i needed something or had a question. They are very honest people and I will definitely go with happy campers on my next trip.

Absolutely lovely experience with Happy Campers, really informative and the additional information booklets in the van really made all the difference. The discount options for fuel really helped too. I can’t remember the name of the lady who served us but she was dark haired and petite, lovely and very helpful, she made picking up the van extremely easy.
