Awesome campervans! We got the yellow Happy 3 for the family and drove around Iceland for 10 days. The Happy Campers guys were very helpful and upgraded us to a larger car after a last-minute cancellation, which was awesome. If you want to travel around Iceland, rent a camper with these guys.
Icelandic: Geggjaðir bílar og mjög auðvelt ferli. Við vorum uppfærð í Happy 3 bílinn sem var fullbókaður eftir cancellation þegar við sóttum, sem var geggjað. Fór hringinn á 10 dögum með fjölskyldunni og sjáum alls ekki eftir því að hafa bókað með Happy Campers. Fjölskyldufyrirtæki sem er að gera hlutina almennilega.

From start to finish, happy campers provided exceptional service! We would recommend them to anyone looking to experience an adventurous, carefree experience! No hotel checkins necessary, no commitment of arriving at a specific location, just driving, exploring and living in the moment. Hakur in the office was so helpful when we needed to move our booking dates. He was in constant communication to ensure our pick up was smooth, and he arrived right on time at our hotel! Fanndis answered our questions through email during the duration of our trip, and Thorsteinn helped us out upon return and gave us a ride back to the hotel! Not to mention, another staff member recommended locations we should visit and we were glad we took his recommendations! This family run business is top notch!
We loved the online happy camper map showing all of the campgrounds and never made a decision until our day of exploring was complete! We were able to make simple meals with the stove for our family and stored our food in the good sized cooler. There was ample space in the back for storage as well!
For a family of five, the happy camper 3 met our needs perfectly! Our children are adult sized teens and we chose to sleep two people on top, two on the bottom and one person on a small self inflating mattress behind the driving seats on the floor that we brought from home. We could have fit three on the bottom bed snugly, but chose to spread out!
If you love adventure and want to experience Iceland without the hassle of hotel check ins and commitments, then this is for you! You will be pleased with the service provided! Thank you happy campers for helping us make such amazing memories!

I rented the Happy 4x4 for a fishing trip with a friend. The car was very roomy and we were easily able to fit all of our gear and belongings in the car. The bed was very easy to setup and comfortable and bigger than we had thought, giving both of us plenty of room when we slept, the heater worked all night keeping us warm even when it was well below freezing outside and best of all, the car had a nice ride height and rugged tires that made it easy for us to travel all the gravel roads and back-country paths that are prevalent when approaching rivers and lakes for fishing in Iceland.
Overall a great experience and I would definitely recommend this to anyone that wants to travel freely in Iceland at their own pace and discretion.

Great friendly helpful manager (Jón). Accommodating as we were stuck in a snow storm and all roads were closed so we could not come back on time for delivery. We arrived 2 days later and no extra charges were made. Will definitely use them again. The vehicle worked perfectly and we had all we needed for our adventure during COVD19 lockdown in Iceland with extra discount and free gravel insurance. Tak Fyrir!!!

I had a Happy 1 booked for two weeks, March 9-24, 2020, with an inverter added so I could charge devices along the way. The camper van was solid in all weather and the heater kept me warm all night, even in the north where it got down to -18 C a couple of nights.
When choosing a van I would say to think of it like a tent: a 2-person tent is really good for one, and a 3-person really good for two. But I had everything I needed for a trip around the entire country and was quite comfortable the entire time. I had a Trawire wifi with me so I had 4G nearly the entire time and could put it in my pocket to have maps and whatnot while hiking or strolling, and also to keep an eye on the ever-changing weather. Happy Campers also provided a wifi unit because it was winter (for safety) but I did not test that out. I am sure it was similar in function.
I was glad to have the 6-speed manual as it got me out of some rather sticky situations quite well.
Overall, a great experience with the company. Because of the time of year and the global health situation my trip got cut short, but I hope to return at some point to finish it.

If you ever get adventurous and want to see all the wild and pure magic that is Iceland; do yourself a huge favor and rent a camper van from Happy Campers. Not only were the reasonably priced but you get so much value for what you spend. The staff are so knowledgeable and help give you the confidence that you need to venture out. Even in winter where the weather can be unpredictable and road conditions might be challenging, you never feel alone. They bolster you with security and confidence. At the home base they even in true camping fashion have shelves filled with goods left by other happy campers that you make freely take to help with your trip. We greatly appreciated being able to visit the country at our own pace, choosing to stay an extra night somewhere we were truly enjoying or getting to push on. The amount of information and guidance this company provides ensures that you can safely navigate this country with confidence.

Happy Campers customer care was exceptional. I arrived during inclement weather, not really knowing the impact it would have on my trip. It was my first time out of country from US and I had no clue what I was getting into. They asked me where I was going and showed me the current status of my routes... They were all red and yellow and strongly advised me for my safety and enjoyment to avoid my excursions. They also gave me alternative ideas and safe routes to stay on. I travel a lot theres no other rental company that has gone out of there way to make sure my travel would be safe and enjoyable. I felt so taken care of and I can't wait to come back during the summer months and rent from these guys again. Highly recommend.

I totally recommend, we had a great time thanks to them and our lovely happy camper! They are so nice and friendly people, who want to make sure you have a great time discovering Iceland and they help you discovering it in the greatest way possible. Everything worked fine with the van, lots of extras to make your stay in the van even more pleasant, such as the guitar they gave us. It smells like home in their office and in their vans❤️

Great service in the run up to our trip, arrival and whilst we were out on the roads someone was available to speak to if we needed help. Unnsteinn was especially friendly and helpful! The van was exactly what we needed, with enough storage, equipment and room for us. Don't forget to bring torches/ head torch for the back at night as the van didn't keep lights on in the back, which was a downside. Would recommend Happy campers. Thank you :)

Had a great trip in the Happy Camper 1 in spite of encountering some issues with the van along the way. Customer service was reliable and we were able to get small issues fixed promptly. I was supplied with everything I needed for my 5 day road trip (including a guitar) and I would highly recommend Happy Campers as your go to for camper rental in Iceland. In particular I would like to mention the impeccable level of customer service that 'Stoney' (sic) showed, whom picked me up from the airport and went through signing of contract and winter driving introduction and ensured my experience with Happy Campers was kept to the highest of standards.

These guys were great. We did a week across southern and western Iceland in their VW van and everything went smoothly. The vans have wifi and GPS tracking, and happy campers gives you contact information for roadside assistance. We cooked all our own meals on the included stove and bounced between clearly marked campgrounds for the duration of our stay. The whole country is very camper van friendly, but Happy Campers went above and beyond to make our trip great. Unnsteinn was wonderful when we dropped the van back off at the office as well.
