I highly recommend Sam Ivy K9 Consultants. Lia is my 5 yr old AmStaff/Lab mix. She is very anxious and this leads to aggressive behavior with other dogs and people she does not know. Her behavior hasn’t ‘mellowed’ with age but had gotten progressively worse. I decided to reach out for help and contacted Sam Ivy and got an immediate response. From the 1st consult I realized that I made the right decision. Maribel is our trainer and she is amazing. She is so knowledgeable and in tune with me and Lia and what we need. I’m in Texas and Maribel is in Florida so the the training is virtual which is even more impressive. We’ve only halfway through our training and I can take Lia on short walks, she spots and her focus is all right on me. I very highly recommend Sam Ivy and Maribel.

I learned about Sam Ivy K9 Consultants on the referral of my vet. My Roscoe is a 17 month old pit bull terrier that I wanted to be sharp! I know owning this breed of dog can come with many challenges simply due to the temperament and energy level of the breed. When Roscoe started to show aggression at the vet and around smaller dogs, I knew an intervention was needed. I even thought about surrendering him, but didn’t have the heart to. I enrolled in the Intermediate On-Leash training. Training with Sam Ivy K9 Consultants was a professional experience from the very first meeting. The price for the training is very affordable. In addition, the training sessions can be conveniently scheduled throughout your day to accommodate your schedule. Training meetings are held on Zoom making it easy for me to review the topics covered. My trainer Nate made me feel very comfortable and has an eagle eye for the specifics. Nate has also been available to answer questions outside of our sessions and is efficiently responsive on follow up, oftentimes giving me information or answers within hours. I appreciate the structure for the mechanics. I know for me to have a sharp dog, I and my dog must be trained together. We learn the command...and the next thing you know Nate asks us to show him what we know. It’s pop quiz and showtime...and it works excellently for memory recall. He doesn’t just tell you the answers. He engages you. It really keeps you on your toes. The format of the training is spot on! I can see marked differences in my Roscoe’s behavior from the beginning until now. Just trust the process. You truly won’t regret a single minute. I am anxious to see what else Roscoe and I can learn so that I can have the dog I have always dreamed of having. Thank you Sam Ivy K9 Consultants for providing such top notch service and turning the tables so that I can have the dog I have always dreamed of.

Our fearful 2 1/2 year old rescue lab mix was becoming more and more reactive to people coming in the house, reactive to people or dogs walking up to the fence, fearful of cars on walks, barking excessively when approached by people and even nipping them. We were using positive only reinforcement training with mild gains but the minute we were outside of a super controlled environment, he would lose his mind and all knowledge of commands. We were to the point of looking to rehome him. We found Sam Ivy K9 and decided to try this approach to training, focusing on reestablishing proper pack behavior. We are beyond ecstatic to say we have encountered several people outside the fence, have passed people on the street, passed cats outside, stopped and talked to new people outside, and no reaction!! He is so much less stressed! It’s like he’s sighing a sigh of relief that he doesn’t need to take control of situations and that we’ve got it handled for him! It was a little adjustment at first to incorporate some of the new ways of life in to our routine but definitely worth it! I highly recommend the program!
