We adopted Bear, a 120 pound Lab/Rottweiler mix, from the humane society 1 year ago and quickly realized that he needed training. He would jump on guests as they walked in the door, climb on us when we were sitting on the couch, bark constantly if you weren’t giving him attention when he wanted it, pull us when we walked him, run away whenever he got the chance, and ignore us whenever we gave him a command to do something he did not want to do. He was so cute but so stubborn and out of control and it got to the point that our friends and family didn’t want to come over because our dog overwhelmed them so much. We had 3 instances where Bear tried to attack dogs in public, and after the third instance I finally told my husband that he immediately needed to begin a training program. We had a consultation with a Sam Ivy Consultant and signed up for the Advanced On Leash Training Program and began our training sessions with Madina. Madina quickly showed us how to establish ourselves as alphas which allowed us to have control over our dog because he finally knew that we were in charge (huge deal!). We saw a massive change after just a couple weeks of beginning the program. Bear is a completely different dog and now our friends and family love him! Thanks Sam Ivy and Madina for helping our family and Bear!

I had a terrific experience with Sam Ivy and specifically our trainer, Thuylinh! We have a very small, 4 pound Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix, Peanut, that was having a terrible time with potty training, was very resistant to walking on a leash, was barking excessively, and was incredibly anxious and had so much separation anxiety. Thuylinh came and turned everything around. I was so nervous to begin training with Peanut because she is so tiny and I also didn't want to damage my relationship with her at all. Thuylinh was so understanding and made sure to explain every single aspect of the training with me so that I felt comfortable and helped me to see how I could build Peanut's confidence and make our relationship even better with the training. Now, Peanut is a happier, more confident dog that hasn't had an accident in months, walks perfectly on the leash, only barks once or twice a day but stops when told, is way less anxious around other dogs/people and follows my lead without being completely dependent on me. This program literally changed my life. I no longer have to worry about Peanut all day or be embarrassed when she acted out. Thank you, Thuylinh and thank you, Sam Ivy :) I would recommend their program to anyone with a pup that needs a little help.

What a wonderful experience we had working with Sam Ivy, but specifically, Erica who was our trainer. She immediately put us at ease and helped us set good boundaries with our energetic and spunky Pug, Charlotte. For the first time since we brought her home, we started feeling more in control and saw progression every week as we worked through the program and tools. The tools really intimidated me at first but after seeing the behavior change without our girl losing her amazing personality, we became believers. We started with the proper pack and upgraded to intermediate on leash because of the results and we couldn’t be more happy. Erica trained our whole family how to live a much happier life together and we are so grateful to have gotten paired with her. She is fair but firm which helped hold all of us accountable (it also helped That she is someone that is easy to be around, funny and authentic) and we will miss having her around (unless we decide to go for the next level training, you never know!). Thank you Erica and Sam Ivy! -Jenn, Matt and Charlotte

Wow! This has made a HUGE difference in the quality of life for our pups and for us! Life before training with Erica - dreading walks, afraid of running into another dog, back yard full of holes from digging. Life after training with Erica - AMAZING! Walks are a pure joy - virtually hands free. Any minor distractions we can immediately address with a slight correction - and we’re reclaiming our back yard! We certainly gave Erica a challenge - two 100 lb dogs - the male pulling and snarling on walks and the female afraid of her own shadow. We saw an immediate improvement within the first two weeks and it kept getting better from there. Erica tailored the experience to each dog and answered all our questions. She was prompt, professional and genuinely loves what she does. The pups love her, too! Here’s a little secret - the training is really for the humans! Their training process works - but you have to trust the process - and put in the work to reinforce the new behavior. We couldn’t be more pleased and the pups are flourishing. The experience and the results are well worth the investment. Thank you Erica, Enzo and Sam!
