In 1989, the school’s opening Mass was celebrated outdoors. Fast forward to today, and that same opening Mass now fills the school hall with over 1,100 students. The Marist theme for the year - Full of Grace, transforms the world with God's love. Two highlights: Year 7 students and the new College altar were blessed by Fr Shane and Fr Leo. The altar, crafted by Mr McCurdo, is inspired by the simple table built by Saint Marcellin Champagnat. When an altar is blessed, it is reverently prayed over as a sacred space for worship and holy oil is carefully rubbed into its surface. This ritual transforms the altar from a piece of furniture into a sacred place of sacrifice and celebration — a lasting reminder of faith, tradition, and the Marist spirit that continues to guide the community.

The Marist Netball team hosted a Bake Sale to raise money for the upcoming Marist Basketball and Marist Netball carnivals held in Perth and Bendigo respectively. Fundraising and other generous contributions from our P&F community have played a pivotal role in enabling our students to travel Australia at various Marist Sporting events. What a fantastic find from 1987 Veritas — a Cakeless Bake Sale where people donate the money they would have spent baking instead of actually making cakes. A novel concept ahead of its time!
