We were proud to host Cullman Leadership recently at the Cullman Police Department. We enjoyed a great meal together before Lt. Trey Higginbotham gave an excellent FLOCK presentation. Michelle Turner and Leann Chambers also provided a hands-on demonstration on evidence collection, showing how our team documents, preserves, and processes items at a scene. Sgt. Rob Long followed with a Taser demonstration. Special shout-out to Patrick Murphree for volunteering to be tased. That takes courage! We wrapped up the afternoon with a short tour of the department and some good conversations. We’re grateful for opportunities like this to connect with and support our community. Building strong relationships is at the heart of what we do, and we appreciate Cullman Leadership for spending the day with us.

** Cullman Police Department Media release ** Over the past several weeks, the Cullman Police Department has responded to an organized scam operation targeting elderly individuals in the Cullman area. Suspects have been approaching elderly victims, convincing them to get into a vehicle, and transporting them to various Walmart locations. Once there, the suspects use the victims’ personal information to fraudulently open AT&T accounts and obtain new iPhones—leaving the victims responsible for substantial bills that later arrive by mail. In many cases, the suspects have abandoned the victims at Walmart with no means of returning home. On November 15, 2025, CPD Patrol Officers and Investigator Nick Watkins located the suspects at the Walmart on Olive St. SW as they were attempting to exploit another elderly woman. Kevonta Doneterrece Price and Tiffany Carter, both of Covington, GA, were taken into custody and charged with Financial Exploitation of the Elderly, 2nd Degree, and Attempted Theft of Property, 3rd Degree. Additional charges are expected as the investigation continues. The Cullman Police Department urges the community to speak with elderly family members, friends, and neighbors about common scams designed to target vulnerable individuals. This investigation remains ongoing. If you or someone you know has been a victim of a similar scheme, please contact The Cullman Police Department at 256-734-1434.

We had a great time yesterday with Cullman Youth Leadership! 👮‍♂️🚓 The group got a behind the scenes tour of the Police Department, explored one of our patrol cars, and even managed to handcuff Officer Brown! They also challenged Officer Brown and Sgt. Walker to a few friendly races in the back lot before we all enjoyed lunch together. One of the highlights of the day was a Taser demonstration by Sgt. Rob Long, where the group watched Officer Radcliff take the hit as part of his training, a safe and controlled demonstration that gave everyone a better understanding of the tools we use to keep our community safe. Opportunities like this are more than just fun, they’re a chance to build relationships with our future leaders. We believe that connecting with our youth helps strengthen trust, understanding, and respect between our officers and the community we serve. Thank you to Cullman Youth Leadership for spending the day with us, we hope you had as much fun as we did! #CommunityMatters #CullmanYouthLeadership
