The Cullman Police Department is aware of the assault that took place at Rock the South last evening. A report is being filed and an investigation is underway. We are relying on the public’s assistance in identifying those involved.

***Attention*** If you’ve had your tax returns completed by Barry Thompson, CPA within the last year and you have not received your tax refund please check your return status to make sure your return has been filed with the IRS. If it has not been filed please come to the Cullman Police Department to speak with us concerning the matter. Mr. Thompson has been arrested on 3 counts of theft and there may possibly be other victims.

**Attention** Mackenzie Isbell, 18yr old W/F from Cullman, has been missing since Tuesday evening. Mackenzie was possibly wearing a Rehau hat with sweatpants and a t-shirt when she left walking from her residence. ****ATTENTION**** The Cullman Police Department has received numerous calls regarding local citizens being contacted by scammers claiming to be employees with the Cullman Police Department and asking for donations. These scammers are asking individuals to leave the donations in their mailbox, and they will come by their residence to pick the donations up, at a certain time, from their mailbox. On one occasion, that we are aware of, there has been a woman show up wearing a black shirt and khaki shorts to the residence in order to retrieve the donation. This is a scam. Please DO NOT leave a donation for the Cullman Police Department in your mailbox.

Those receiving the most votes will receive a $25.00 gift card from First National Bank! • Chad Ashworth, Police: During the 2023 2A State Track Meet, an athlete dislocated his hip in the hurdle race. Chad assisted the young man and his coaches get to the hospital, which was a great help to them since they were from South Alabama and the athlete had no family with him at the event. The athlete returned to the meet the next day with his family to thank Officer Ashworth for his help. Congratulations, Chad! • Ryan Whisenhunt, Police Reserves: Recently a woman from Arab, who was pregnant and traveling with her 12-year-old daughter, had a flat tire in Cullman. The woman posted later on her Facebook page that Office Ryan Whisenhunt “got straight to work to change my tire.” She was very appreciative of his help and impressed with his concern for them, stating that he was “a genuinely nice guy.” Congratulations, Ryan! Each winner is showing receiving their $25 VISA Gift Card from Stephen McRea, Marketing Executive with First National Bank. The Cullman Police Department will be hosting the Pro Train Inc. STOPS class December 4-6. Officers completing this course will be certified to instruct officers in the STOPS officer survival program.

Early this morning Officer Hunter Riddlesburger located a suspicious vehicle on the west side of Cullman. He noticed two male subjects in hoodies carrying a backpack were walking toward the vehicle. After investigating the area where the vehicle was located, Officer Riddlesburger and Office Zane Pounders found other vehicles that had been burglarized. The subjects were detained, and after a more thorough investigation, all five occupants were arrested on drug charges and Breaking and Enter a motor vehicle. One of the subjects was from Huntsville and all the others were from Tennessee. The Cullman Police Department would like to commend Officer Riddlesburger actively patrolling these neighborhoods and solving multiple B&E

Early this morning Cullman Police Department officers arrested several subjects breaking into cars. The subjects have indicated that they broke into several more vehicle’s throughout the city of Cullman that we have yet to receive reports for. Please check your vehicle(s) to see if something has been taken. Notify Cullman PD if so and an officer will come by to take a report.

** Update ** 20 year old, Christopher Dean Eugene Brown of Empire, AL has been arrested and charged with Murder, for the shooting death of 23 year old, Roberto Juarez Ramos of Blountsville, AL. The Cullman Police Department would like to thank Walker County Sheriff's Office for locating and apprehending Brown and also Sumiton PD for their assistance. We would also like to thank the Cullman County District Attorney, Champ Crocker and Cullman County Circuit Clerk, Lisa McSwain for assisting us in securing a warrant so quickly. Great Job by Cullman Police Department Patrol Division and Investigation Division for all of their work in this case.
