During Term 3 Year 6 have been investigating the social and emotional impacts of war. One task was to create propaganda posters using techniques of manipulation that we researched. The posters were shared and critiqued by the class who collaboratively decided on the elements that were effective and on any areas that could be improved. Each student then edited their posters using this input. #mamrelearning

Some National Science Week activities related to glass. Year 7 valued the transparency of glass when they made lava lamps, year 11 Chemistry reflected on the glasslike behaviour of molten sugar crystals as the particles were rearranged into an amorphous solid, becoming brittle when cooled and allowing light to pass through.
Year 12 learned how to cut through glass and reshape hot glass while making personalised glass stirring rods. With the random particle arrangements glass does not conduct heat as easily as metal and so whilst one end was hot the other end remained cold enough to handle. #mamrelearning
3M have been learning how to conduct chance experiments and graph the results using Skittles and Smarties. 3M used tally marks and column graphs to show their understanding of the frequency of certain colours in the packets. They were very excited to be able to eat their experiment at the end of the lesson. #mamrelearning
